ReStructure Mix Update (1/30/20) “Here Comes The Rain Again” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Eurhythmics

ReStructure Mix Update (1/30/20) “Here Comes The Rain Again” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Eurhythmics

Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart are Eurhythmics. This 80’s band is one of the creative forces of their time with obscure vison and takes on love and heartbreak. Initially fused as a synth-pop sound from their big hit 1982 “Sweet Dreams” their sound merged a light rock edge with the dance arena of the 80’s. “Here Comes The Rain Again” is a single from 1983 which features The British Philharmonic Orchestra on symphonic strings. The track was another surprise from the duo as it retained their eerie play with heartbreak, exquisite writing as well as Annie Lennox’s masterful vocal.

As a salute to the 80’s and the continuance of dance history I have created a new ReStructure Mix for “Here Comes The Rain Again” using the 12” extended version and instrumental. A more sweeping intro with the lush strings and a play with the synth-drums and passion of the song.

REISSUE: "Dance (Disco Heat)" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester Who hasn't felt the power of this club anthem? Sylvester created a starting line for dancers to move all night long with this cut. The synthesizers zip along like a rabbit on steroids - thanks to wonderful and late, Patrick Cowley for his innovative and true disco synthesizers - without him we would still be waiting! Martha Wash and the late Izora Rhodes are gripping as the upfront chorus of this track - it is no wonder how they both brought a true gospel elegance to disco music from hereon. Sylvester will always live in disco music - he is closest to the "Godfather of Disco" than most artists for being so innovative and unaffected by the industry. This ReStructure runs over 11 minutes short!

REISSUE: “I’m So Excited” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Pointer Sisters

REISSUE: “I’m So Excited” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Pointer Sisters
Pointer Sisters are Anita Pointer, June Pointer and Ruth Pointer – a trio who set the 80’s on fire with their music and exciting stage presence. It was a festive 80’s which brought tracks like “I’m So Excited” alive from their 1982 album by the same name. Produced by Richard Perry and delivered with their soulful and motivated vocals. I have taken the 12” version of “I’m So Excited” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix to bring back the colorful 80’s and the uplifting feel of the music.

REISSUE: "If You Can Dance You Can Do It" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Slimline

REISSUE: "If You Can Dance You Can Do It" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Slimline Slimline is an electronic dance project from producer Mike Leander – who is known for his productions of The Glitter Band in the early 70s. This infectious single from 1982 works on the aerobics craze of the time period and a stompin’ rhythm beat that creates a solid foundation for a “Madison-rap” and peaks that sound sinister as well as energetic. It is the only material leased from Slimline and a number that brings back the disco power of early 80s. I have taken the vocal and the instrumental (with count) and created a ReStructure Mix that uses for electronics from Kraftwerk to accent the climbing and falling arrangement. It is lengthier and more fun as the trio guide you through this hypnotic dance experience.

REISSUE: "Thank God There’s Music” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Theo Vaness

REISSUE: "Thank God There’s Music” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Theo Vaness Theo Vaness is a disco singer from The Netherlands who was sang with a Dutch band called The Shoes. His first album featured a medley of classic pop hits in a disco medley and appropriately titled “Back To Music”. The productions provided by Michael, Lana and Paul Sebastian reflected the Euro influence on disco music with a New York feel. “Thank God For Music” is from Theo’s third album and one of my favorites as it brings the disco era to a wonderful close in celebrating the music. It is an anthem that plays out well again for Theo as his vocals create a unique feel and energy. I have taken the album version of “Thank God There’s Music” and reworked a ReStructure Mix that gives the tracks riffs more placement and an extended message. More of the chorus is reworked for a message that should always continue.

REISSUE: "Weekend" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Phreek

REISSUE: "Weekend" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Phreek Patrick Adams is one of the great masterminds of disco music. His productions always enveloped the sound of dancers everywhere. "Weekend" is from a project Adams produced in 1978 - it has become the club anthem started directly from Paradise Garage with deejays like Larry Levan. The track was sang by Christine Wiltshire and backup included Jocelyn Brown. It is a classic and will always remain a favorite among disco connoisseurs. This ReStructure Mix takes the track a bit deeper with new beats and a few added effects. A mindful mix that I had allot of fun with!

REISSUE: “Stargazing” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Earlene Bentley featuring Sylvester

REISSUE: “Stargazing” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Earlene Bentley featuring Sylvester Earlene Bentley is a disco/high energy star from the early 80s who took dance floors hostage with her big 1983 hit, “The Boys Come To Town”. Her powerful vocal performances bring to mind a sultry standard singer with a level for moving feet and floor boards when roaring. One of my favorite and slightly camp-like approaches which always makes the males who love the divas stand to attention. “Stargazing” is a monstrous single from 1984 which also features disco star, Sylvester – produced by Ian Levine and Fiachra Trench. Another one of their big dance hits that stand out with these two powerhouse singers belting out their love and energy! I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental to work a ReStructure Mix which takes more time to introduce the exploding sound of “Stargazing” and also add a few elements from each of our stars past moments. This is a fun track that should bring back that 80s high energy feel!

REISSUE: "Breakaway" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Watson Beasley

REISSUE: "Breakaway" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Watson Beasley Watson Beasley are Alfred Beasley and Gina Watson - an incredible duo from 1980 - their LP "Watson Beasley" produced by Peter Alves and Watson Beasley. "Breakaway" is the big hit from the album and has become a classic at the end of the disco era. It remains one of the most loved high energy/disco tracks for many disco connoisseurs. The vocals always brought to mind an Ashford and Simpson-like driving disco energy sound. I have taken the album version (not the 12" remix) and ReStructured a longer and more break injected mix for the lovers of this monster hit. Dedicated to Mr. Alfred Beasley and sending lots of good energy and thanks for your talent!

REISSUE: "I Wanna Take You Home" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Patrick Cowley

REISSUE: "I Wanna Take You Home" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Patrick Cowley Patrick Cowley made a mark in the 80s with his electronic sound introduced earlier on his work with projects by Sylvester, Fever, Brenda Mitchell and Beckie Bell. A rolling synthesizer and psychedelic-60 keyboard riffs were the stamps which gave Cowley a place on hardcore dance floors and a hard sound to forget for those who were accustomed to disco music with orchestral and band arrangements. During a period when disco music moved underground. It was a great time for discovering independent artists and label recording new music rather than recreate and duplicate to monopolize on sales rather than creative movement. “I Wanna Take You Home” is from Patrick Cowley’s album “Menergy” from 1981 and created a double sided 12” release for his first single. It was a huge hit and gave dancers the disco beat with a new edge. I have taken the original 12” version to blend this ReStructure Mix using some of Cowley’s magic from “Megatron Man” and also rearranging the song for a longer and brighter feel.

REISSUE: “Pistol In My Pocket” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Lana Pellay

REISSUE: “Pistol In My Pocket” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Lana Pellay Lana Pellay is a high energy artist in the vein of the successful band Dead Or Alive with the help of P.W.L. Productions – with Phil Harding engineering. This camp number is a take of Mae West’s so-called classic line from “She Done Him Wrong”. “Pistol In My Pocket” is fast and furiously means and roars out as the beats and percussion remind our feet that high energy is its own style. The lyrics are fun and a bit mild although Lana’s performance is fun and a bit tame for what I would imagine as a transsexual performer. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Pistol In My Pocket” and reworked a ReStructure Mix with some new bullets and loops to make the fierce number come alive again. It uses some bits of Ms. West at the intro and a touch of what made it all happen at the end.

REISSUE: “Le Cage Aux Folles” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Le Jeté

REISSUE: “Le Cage Aux Folles” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Le Jeté
Le Jeté is a studio band produced by Ken Kessie, Marty Blecman and Morey Goldstein on the high energy label Megatone Records. Their only single “La Cage Aux Folles” from 1983 is a disco version of a song from the Broadway Musical which is based on the 1978 Italian comedy. This production follows the high energy pace set my tracks like “So Many Men, So Little Time” and “The Boys Come To Town” which give disco music a new facelift with the electronic percussion and heavy synthesizers. A big hit in many clubs either as a vocal or the flip-side instrumental. Lots of the breaks and flowing energy that made the early and mid-80s a great place to dance. I have taken the original Megatone 12” vocal and instrumental to work this new ReStructure Mix. It extends the song and places some new re-edits as the breaks and re-worked synthesizer parts. The vocals are re arranged and given more opportunities to entertain and welcome a sample from Mr. Robert Preston.

ReStructure Mix Update (1/29/20) “For Your Sweet Information” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – P.J. Marcus

P.J. Marcus is An Italo-disco artist who recorded on the Cruisin’ Records label from Ennio Tricomi. “For Your Sweet Information” is a 1985 single which is memorable for a beautiful period of melodic Italo-disco and the fusion of electronic dance music becoming high energy. This one uses synthetic horns to call on the energy and a fast moving percussion as well as a love note for a romance being resurrected. P.J.’s vocals ring out that 80’s synth-pop feel that we were familiar with in many Stock, Aitken and Waterman productions. It rings a nice sound for this rolling dance track and is another tribute to that Italo-disco period which kept feet moving throughout the 80’s.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “For Your Sweet Information” and created a new ReStructure Mix adding more intro and build to the opening and extending those wonderful chorus loops. This plays with the percussion and some of the vocals to give the song a break from the crescendo of the original.

REISSUE: "From East To West" by Voyage - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "From East To West" by Voyage - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera The 1977 LP "Voyage" by Voyage marks a place in disco history that is hard to forget. It is a time where Euro-disco painted strong images and feelings for a dance floor waiting to be taken away to a fantasy world. The title track "From East To West" is a classic and leaves the imagination feeling unlimited - as well as the dance floor ready for more. The project was produced by Roger Tokarz and features musicians Marc Chantereau, Pierre Alain Dahan and Slim Pezin as well as many backup ensembles from Cerrone and Munich disco recording sessions. I have taken the 1956 adventure film, "Around The World In 80 Days" based on the Jules Verne's novel and placed scenes and images in this Disco Video Mix. The scenic quality works quite well and leaves little wonder on how this song by Voyage has become a classic piece for disco lovers all over the world. The film was directed by Michael Anderson Featuring scenes from "Around The World In 80 Days" - RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: “Living In Japan” by Fun Fun – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Living In Japan” by Fun Fun – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Fun Fun is Spagna, Antonella Pepe, and Angela Parisio on vocals. An Italian disco project from Alvaro Ugolini and Dario Rainmondi and a non-stop dance floor hit machine from 1982 – 1987. “Living In Japan” is their single from the album “Have Fun!” – an electronic trip with romance in the land of the rising sun. One of the big hits for me during its release since the sound of Fun Fun is so recognizable and ‘fun’ to move with. This is also one of the sweetest of their vocal recordings and great kickin’ mid-tempo rhythms. I have taken scenes from the 1961 Toho Studios fantasy film, “Mothra” – centering in on the “Shobijin” twins who entertain us in this mild and short tribute to Fun Fun and also segments of the ritual for their god, Mothra. The film was directed by Ishiro Honda Featuring scenes from "Mothra" - RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: "Chase" by Giorgio - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "Chase" by Giorgio - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera In 1978 Giorgio Moroder created the icon instrumental movement of his career - "Chase" - from the soundtrack of the film "Midnight Express". This electronic masterpiece is one of Moroder's best known by ear since it's reverberation and sequencer timing is almost haunting. It is also one of the years most celebrated 12 Inch singles that repeat the orchestral sound of its melody and climax over and over. The theme was always haunting to me, which moved me to match the piece up with the 1922 horror film, "Nosferatu" - with enough images to haunt any night. The German film is based on the Bram Stoker legend of Dracula. Covering the part of The Count is Max Schreck. A pairing that should bring the effect of shivers and images that will be placed inside your eyelids before bedtime. The film was directed by F.W. Murau Featuring scenes from "Nosferatu" - RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: "Laser" by Laser – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "Laser" by Laser – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Electronic disco projects fueled by the imagination of artists and producers like Giorgio Moroder were the inspiration and the path of disco music in the early 80's. Artists like Patrick Cowley also assisted in this motion. Laser is a German produced album by Wolfgang Hermes and as close to the perfection and adventure that disco electronica was to deliver. With the theme of galactic adventure and deep mystique. I have taken the track "Laser" (which is an adventure in itself) and blended it with the 1966 science fiction film, "Fantastic Voyage" – which I can remember seeing on the big screen at the age of 5 during it's release. The film is about a diplomat who after being nearly assassinated is apart of experiment to shrink a submarine and it's crew down to be injected in his blood stream in attempt to save his life by internal procedures. The adventure works well together and many of the images are very imaginative. The film was directed by Richard Fleischer and stars Stephen Boyd, Rachel Welch, Edmond O' Brien, Donald Pleasence and Arthur O' Connell Featuring scenes from "Fantastic Voyage" – RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: "San Salvador" by Azoto - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "San Salvador" by Azoto - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Celso Valli created Azoto in 1978 with their first LP "Music Makers Ltd." - it was Italo-disco of the late 70's. A formulation of synthesizers, strings, bass and heavy percussion. The follow up LP "Disco Fizz" was released in 1979 featuring several dance floor classics: "Anytime Or Place", "Soft Emotion" and "San Salvador". All with the lyrical feel of pure Euro-disco and the edge, which Valli places in his compositions and productions. "San Salvador" is featured in this Disco Video Mix along with scenes from the 1984 adventure film, "Romancing The Stone" starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito - a film about a romance novel caught in a dangerous adventure - and although the film takes place in Columbia, Ken and I agreed the festive nature belongs wonderfully with Azoto's Italo-disco classic. REISSUE: “That’s Where The Happy People Go” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Trammps

REISSUE: “That’s Where The Happy People Go” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Trammps The Trammps are a soul ensemble from the 60’s whose influence of disco music is a great memory for many who experienced the transition in the mid-70s of soul/Philly blend to a club/disco feel. Their 1976 hit “Disco Inferno” is still an iconic piece of dance music. “That’s Where The Happy People Go” from the album by the same name is another anthem which brings a groove which helped to make dance floor intentity with both the music as well as the discotheque scene. I have taken the 12” version of “That’s Where The Happy People Go” and worked a new ReStructure Mix to bring out that hand-clappin’ groove with a new arrangement and a few added breaks. The chorus is one of the great tie-line with the mid-70s scene and brings back the excitement all over again.

REISSUE: “Celebration” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kool and The Gang

REISSUE: “Celebration” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kool and The Gang Kool and The Gang took the dance floor in 1970 when they released their first album. Their dedication to soul music and the eventual transformation of it into many genres and style throughout the 70’s, 80’s and even today. ”Celebration” is their big 1980 hit which made an impact from its release and is now an old school classic. Co-produced by Eumir Deodato and displays his signature keyboard riffs and play. The song has made dance floors feel the excitement that is an ingredient here and in many of Kool and The Gangs soulful club records. I have taken the album version – both vocal and instrumental to recreate the peak of the “Celebration” in this ReStructure Mix. It moves into a whole new realm of execution and is most definitely a play of the songs content.

REISSUE: “Not Tonight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Macho

REISSUE: “Not Tonight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Macho Macho is a disco sound from producer Jacques Fred Petrus, Marzio Vincenzi on lead vocals along with arranger Mauro Malavasi and Celso Valli. In 1978 Macho released a disco version of Steve Winwood’s “I’m A Man” with an electronic overhaul which made an innovative move for disco music. “Roll” is the second project from Macho from 1980 and set a mode where these studio masters created the essence for disco music with a rock edge. “Not Tonight” from the second album follows closely on this sound. The roaring guitars and rolling bass are the magic of this fantastic production. I have taken the album version of “Not Tonight” and recreated a ReStructure Mix breaking down the powerful riffs – drums beats – bass – synthesizers into an extended piece. This one always held my heart since it captures the disco sound in a new package and also the theme is created with complete album graphics and musically.

REISSUE: "I Don't Need No Music" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - TJM

REISSUE: "I Don't Need No Music" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - TJM Thomas Jerome Moulton (TJM) did for disco music in the 70's what Berry Gordy created for Motown in the 60's. There was a distinct sound that Moulton created - it was the essence of soul recaptured in a modern and innovative package. It was about many faucets: from arrangement, mix down and execution. It was the final phase for dance music in the early and mid 70's to begin the work o many influenced by it's power. TJM is a project produced by Tom Moulton which I call the finale of real disco music. It has the feel of all that Moulton worked for in disco music from his projects as a "disco re-mixer", producer, and his ideals and concepts. I have taken the track "I Don't Need No Music" and placed it in the ReStructure format - which is a dance mix for the moment and by the moment in the true essence of what I know as the disco mix. Dedicated to Mr. Tom Moulton

REISSUE: "Steppin' Out" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Ray Dahrouge

REISSUE: "Steppin' Out" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Ray Dahrouge
Ray Anthony Dahrouge is a producer/vocalist with many projects produced under his belt - including Street People and "Mon Amour" by Gary Criss. His solo album "Rendezvous With Destiny" from 1979 was a fantastic recording which gave the disco scene a wonderful soundtrack. The album was co-produced by Bill Terrell and featured John Davis as arranger and conductor. I have taken his disco hit "Steppin' Out" - the original 12" version - and have given it a ReStructure Mix work over using those classic Davis bongos and working the track with more of the strings and vocals pieces. Some surprise breaks and a fade out. Dedicated to Mr. Ray Dahrouge and Mr. John Davis

ReStructure Mix Update (1/27/20) “L.O.V.E. Got A Hold Of Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Demis Roussos

Demis Roussos is a Greek singer who began his recording career in 1971 which carried him through his lifetime when he passed in 2015. His distinctive vocals and style are the memory of this man’s incredible music journey. During the disco era his project with producer Freddie Perren brought his self-titled project which featured the single “L.O.V.E. Got A Hold On Me”. The track was popular among his fans and many disco audiophiles who were aware of the fondness of the blend of history of this talent along with the supreme touch from Perren. The song plays out with a touch of disco underground feel where the groove plays on as the arrangement takes its own control.

I have taken the 12” version of “L.O.V.E. Got A Hold Of Me” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix of this hidden gem. It focuses more on the dub aspect of a new song utilizing the synth pieces as a foundation. More of the passionate feel of this one is placed into a new perspective.

REISSUE: "So Many Men, So Little Time" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown

REISSUE: "So Many Men, So Little Time" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown "So Many Men, So Little Time" was the noticed arrival of high energy music in the early 80's - it signified the proof that people were not done dancing to disco music. The track was one of the most popular of the time and lasting throughout time - even today. Miquel Brown had a mild disco hit with "Symphony Of Love" in 1978 - her return in 1983 with her LP "Manpower" guaranteed a lasting stance on dance floors. This ReStructure Mix chops and rearranges every element from the "oh-so-familiar" mix and creates a whole new hedonism moment for all to dance and celebrate.

REISSUE: “Close To Perfection” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Miquel Brown

REISSUE: “Close To Perfection” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Miquel Brown Miquel Brown is one of the disco/hi-NRG standards of the 80s – her 1983 dance floor smash, “So Many Men, So Little Time” brought a whole new sound and energy to starving dance floors. It was a follow up to her 1978 album “Symphony Of Love” – produced by Alan Hackshaw whom also produced Love-De-Luxe (“Here Comes That Sound Again”). “Close To Perfection” is a track from the 1985 project produced by UK dance masters, Ian Levine and Fiachra Trench. This is one of those lilting and melodic tracks which brought an early evening – early morning to the hilt. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental (originally mixed by John Morales and Sergio Munzibai) and created a ReStructure Mix to give this beauty a new face. A new intro focusing on the bass synthesizer pounding out the symphony b ass-line introduces Miquel’s serenade in a new way. It is still one of those tracks that make disco music sound every bit as beautiful as the Philly days. This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Nick and Lindsay – thanks for the love and kindness! You are both disco perfection!

REISSUE: “He’s A Saint, He’s A Sinner” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Miquel Brown

REISSUE: “He’s A Saint, He’s A Sinner” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Miquel Brown Miquel Brown is a singer who took on disco music in 1979 with her album “Symphony Of Love” – produced by Alan Hawkshaw. The title track became a favorite of the Euro-disco lovers with the lyrical sound of sensual femme disco accompaniment. Later in 1983 Miquel scored a huge hit along with producers Ian Levine and Fiachra Trench with the single, “So Many Men, So Little Time” – another statement that the disco era had not quite finished its business. In a new form called ‘high energy’. The album released the same year featured another dance single titled, “He’s A Saint, He’s A Sinner” – another light and playful portrayal of the hedonism of hardcore club dance music. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental re-mix to create a new play for Miquel’s operatic-like delivery and the rolling pianos and crashing disco beats. This new ReStructure Mix takes pieces of the breaks and pianos and mixes them up like martini. It is a version that salutes the early 80s club sound and its influence on the path disco music took unexpectedly.

REISSUE: “Symphony Of Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown

REISSUE: “Symphony Of Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown Miquel Brown released her first disco project in 1978 with "Symphony Of Love" - the production was handled by Alan Hackshaw (Love De Luxe) who used many of the musicians from the Love and Kisses, Voyage and Cerrone recordings. This LP did quite well during its time and "Symphony Of Love" is one of the track that is most memorable. Miquel went on in the early 80's to record with disco producer extraordinaire, Ian Levine and brought us classics like "So Many Men, So Little Time" and "Close To Perfection". I have ReStructured "Symphony Of Love" with some new drums tracks and taking advantage of the lovely vocals, bass and lead guitars.

REISSUE: "Beeline" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown

REISSUE: "Beeline" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown Miquel Brown is one of the Ian Levine artists who helped us to believe in disco music again in the early 80s – with a new vibrancy and title: “high energy”. This was an exciting time for dance floors. It seemed like the sound of electronic disco was hard hitting and perfected down the percussion strike. Following her big single “So Many Men, So Little Time” this follow up “Beeline” struck another chord for dancers to move with the grace of the pounding energy of a new era of dance. I have taken the ‘Gary Otto Remix’ and have given it a new ReStructure Mix to give this love-letter a new meaning – adding some familiar “buzzy” guests from a classic Larry Levan single along with the rolling bass line to break the mix into a new part.

ReStructure Mix Update (1/26/20) “Deliverance” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Space

Space is French disco ensemble created by Didier Marouani and Roland Romanelli and helped to pave a new sound for not only disco but also reviving a new age and electronic arrangements. Their contributions to music in the disco realm are a force to themselves and when more of their talents are exposed there is more of a symphonic feel. “Deliverance” is from their 1977 album by the same name and features a powerful vocal by Madeline Bell. This one is an anthem in its own right. Powerful chorus backing and a haunting aura make this one a nice production. One of the great numbers from Space and a layout of their phenomenal sound.

I have taken the album version of “Deliverance” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix for a tribute to this time in music and Space. There are more drums and percussion added to pull the original arrangement into a new world.

REISSUE: “Love Potion #9” by Rinder & Lewis – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Love Potion #9” by Rinder & Lewis – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera W. Michael Lewis and Laurin Rinder are the sound of disco music in the transition from Philly to a more underground form in production and execution. Their music and productions brought a whole new experience to discotheques in a familiar sound but a new package. “Warriors” is their 1979 project which is the most uniform disco sounds for 1979. A cover of The Searchers 1963 song “Love Potion #9” done in the Rinder and Lewis style – blending pulsating sequencers and flowing string arrangements over a light groove. This Disco Video Mix is more of a salute to their underground influence and talent. This Disco Video Mix takes the film “Love Potion #9” from 1992 based on the rock ‘n roll classic. It stars Tate Donovan and Sandra Bullock as scientist finding the potion for a lonely life and eventually love. The film has been reedited to suit our song and uses more of the gypsy woman played by Anne Bancroft to bring the song to life. REISSUE: “Macumba” by Tantra – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Macumba” by Tantra – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Tantra is a disco project from Italian songwriter, producer and arranger, Celso Valli. Perhaps one of the most progressive and mystifying bands of the disco era. Two releases were all needed to map a huge spot in disco history. “Macumba” comes from the album “Tantra II” and is an electronic arrangement with themes which place dancers again in a fantasy trip. A great production from Antonio Coco and Celso Valli. I have taken visuals from the 1960 voodoo themed flick, “Macumba Love” – where much of the rituals play out with the songs direction of a woman who mysteriously lures a man into her clutches. It is obviously a play on the theme and some fun watching the superstition give way to time. The film was directed by Douglas Fowley Featuring scenes from “Macumba Love” – RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: “I Got A Line On You” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Patrick Cowley

REISSUE: “I Got A Line On You” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Patrick Cowley Patrick Cowley worked on several projects during the late 70s which began his fantastic synthesizer-dose along with his vision of a futuristic dance fusion sound. Tracks like Sylvester’s “Dance (Disco Heat)” reached levels of energy with Cowley’s assistance. “Menergy” is his 1981 album which brought dance floors a new sound and imagination to move and fantasize with. “I Got A Line On You” is a single from this project and a cover of the 1968 psychedelic rock track by Spirit. An appropriate remake for Cowley to tackle since his electronic work was a psychedelic-electro layer on disco music itself. I have taken the album version of “I Got A Line On You” – which features vocals by Jo-Carol Block Davidson and Lauren Carter (also known as Jolo) and created a ReStructure Mix using the original version in parts and also enhancing Cowley’s original arrangement. It is a mind-bending song as a disco track and the new version adds to the trip.
