ReStructure Mix Update (8/13/26): “I Wanna Be A Cowboy” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Boys Don’t Cry
Boys Don’t Cry is a British pop-rock band who released a single titled “I Wanna Be A Cowboy” in 1986 - a dance parody of the Western man being admired with light hearted humor. The track fit into the 80s catalogue with a sincere direction and distinctive package. The electronic arrangement gives off several bass riffs which mimic a night on the plains with a roaring fire giving comfort to exhausted rustlers. The fun here lies in the outline of a modern day man desiring the dirty and dusty lifestyle of the open West as a need to feel excitement. Every cliche of this time period is open to jab and offers a strange parallel for the fantasy of living the life of a cowboy. The band members include Brian Chatton, Jeff Seopardie, John Ward, Loui Beau, Mark Smith, Nick Richards, Nico Ramsden and Richard Tace.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental version of “I Wanna Be A Cowboy” and rewired the piece again for a new ReStructure Mix. More of the bass grooves are used to give the breakdowns and a fade out which is the last of the embers on the prairie.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/12/26): “Strategy” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jigsaw
Jigsaw is a pop-rock band from England who began recording in 1970 and also recorded one of the disco classic pop-hits titled “Sky High” in 1975. “Strategy” is a single from 1989 as part of the high-energy label Nightmare Records - produced by Ian Levine and Steven Wagner. This majestic piece of dance music is close to the feel of their classic sound and a theme where a layout brings a troubled relationship to healing. The lead vocal by Des Dyer plays out with a haunting echo throughout the song and gives it an instant classic feel for this long standing band. The energy provided by Wagner and Levine who have scored over and over with production throughout the 80s for the dance floor solidify their presence once again.
I have taken the 12” vocal and dub version of “Strategy” and worked the magic into a new ReStructure Mix. More of the technical pieces are embellished and the story is given a new way to play out.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/11/26): “The Calling” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Friends of Matthew
Friends of Matthew is a techno/rave project with members Cino Berigliano, Jon Pearn, Michael Gray and Nick Ratcliffe. The band’s title is based on a young boy from Leicester whose love for house music and belief in aliens from another universe exists. “The Calling” is a techno piece from 1990 which uses vocal samples from a song by The Carpenters titled “Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft” from 1977 where Karen’s beautiful voice becomes a cry out for those in space to answer. Their version is a cover of Klaatu's 1975 original. This track has more mystique based on the sound effects which create a question of our universe itself. There are moments where trance is the style and a lilting sound of silence says more than the idea. Techno music during the early 90s were released as underground singles as the raw recording was intended as the experience as a whole.
I have taken the 12” versions of “The Calling” and moved them into a new ReStructure Mix with more of the same mystery. There is a new drum track throughout the remix to pump out the rhythm with more intent.

Joey Negro (David Russell Lee) is one of keepers of disco and house music who has contributed to the growth and direction of club music from the disco era to the underground house scene of the 90’s and throughout the millennium. His music has captured the sound which are the basics of the groove and scene. Negro has always been looked to with respect and anticipation of what direction he would take his productions. In 1992 he released an EP titled “Enter Your Fantasy” which contained “Love Fantasy” which is one of his most repeated tracks on my playlists of the period. This literal explosive song is a venture into a place where dancers and clubbers could never achieve without sounds like this. It is one of Negro’s “Voyage” disco productions in he house theme. With the big house movement of the time this is an encapsulation of the excitement in which it was created. It is another Negro anthem!
I have taken the EP version of “Love Fantasy” and reworked and readministered the groove for this ReStructure Mix. I have added a few distinctive drum tracks to take it to another world - which is what Negro’s influence has motivated in me.
This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Michael Rosensteel who always motivated my love for dance music by saying, “lets go, lets go, lets go!”

Pearly Gates is a disco singer who began her recording career in 1974 and released several disco tracks in the late '70s. During the 80s high-energy period she also made a return covering “One Less Bell To Answer” in 1989 - produced by Ian Levine and Steven Wagner. “Action!” is her 1985 single - produced by James George Hargreaves and Mick Parker. This is the essence of the high energy sound coming from the UK and in a resounding package which took many artists onto fame. This number is an evening out on the town with the intention of being “bold and bad”. It plays with excitement and much of the energy that this genre of dance music is known for.
I have taken the 12” remix of “Action!” and reignited the festive energy again for this ReStructure Mix. I have used several segments of the original to fill in the places where a dub edge was needed.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/5/26): “Computer World” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk are a German band who took music into the future. Their success is based on the creative ends of their recordings. From 1970 their recording career opened new and imaginative sounds which are now classics. “Computer World” is from their 1981 project by the same title and is one of their most stage and dance floor superlatives of its time. It is the sound where “pings” and “clicks” add to an orchestral build among technical and futuristic themes. In “Computer World” there is a wonderful overtone of processing audio sounds which create the rhythm and a robotic voice adds to the metal sounding arrangement. Keyboards are haunting and create another mystique to ignite senses. The 80s made their music a street fusion when rap and hip-hop used many of their recorded pieces as an outline.
I have taken the album version of “Computer World” and reprogrammed the track for this ReStructure Mix. A downbeat is added to add more energy and rhythm to the number and new breaks make it a futuristic take in a new way.

Vanessa Mae is a British violinist who in 1997 took on the disco classic “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer/Giorgio Moroder. The outcome is an interesting take on the rave version released in 1991 and her own interpretation of the swirling electronic masterpiece. The production by Andy Hill is a full on dance floor piece which blends into the techno scene of the time. There are wonderful drops where you almost feel as if you are hanging from a cloud and the air beneath is about to save you. It is an exhilarating arrangement and adds to the homage to Donna’ sensual recordings.
I have taken the 12” versions of Vanessa Mae’s cover of “I Feel Love” and weaved them into a new ReStructure Mix. There are new rhythm tracks added and come play on vocals and keyboard segments.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/3/26): “Never Needed You Anyway” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Delores Hall
Delores Hall is a singer whose career began in Los Angeles and on Broadway appearing in musical revues. In 1979 she recorded her self-titles album on Capitol Records and was produced by Robert Thiele Jr. (Lonnie Liston Smith and Katey Segal) and Mark Kamins (helped launch Madonna’s career). The project included some of soul and disco top performers including John Tropea, Jimmy Maelen and Leon Pendarvis and on backing vocals including Gwen Guthrie, Luther Vandross, Gordon Grody and Krystal Davis. Delores delivers some wonderful dance numbers here including “Never Needed You Anyway” which is a soul/funk track dressed into a disco gem. The vengeful song gives her lover now on the way out the “low-down” on the situation without any kindness. It is one of the vocals that Delores pulls off the direct and non-apologetic focus to a found out ex. The album gives many disco directions in a great production and each holds its own.
I have taken the album version of “Never Needed You Anyway” and have given it a new ReStructure Mix to take this out again for a stage. I have added new accents on the drum and percussion layers and made the statement in a new arrangement.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/2/26): “Searching” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Faces
Faces is a disco project from UK producer Jean Claude Alves - who also gave us tracks from Hazell Dean, Norma Lewis, Technique, Jackie Rawe and Ellie Warren. Dance music which helped to define the 80s high energy scene and remain dedicated to a sound which brought the rhythm and beats to the forefront while giving us talented vocalists to represent. “Searching” is a well-known track from 1979 recorded by Change featuring the fabulous Luther Vandross making this piece another of his signature dance songs. This new production plays close to the original arrangement with new focus to present it as the classic that it is. The lead vocal is performed wonderfully by an un-credited male who presents the story as it should be told. A part of the Make Them Dance Records a UK dance label dedicated to reviving classic disco tracks in a new package.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of Faces’ “Searching” cover and used the pieces recreated once again for a new ReStructure Mix. A new intro is given a slow build into the pulsating groove and an exit in the same fashion in reverse.

Silver Pozolli is an Italian disco artist who began his dance music recording career in 1985 with his single “Around My Heart”. Italian disco music changed during the mid-80s into more of a synth-pop experience. “Pretty Baby” is a single from 1987 which encompasses the sound of what was called Italo-disco in the uplifting keyboards and romantic vocals given up by Silver. Produced by Stefano Scalera and arrangements which play out clearly in one of the evolution periods of Italian disco music. The synthetic horns outline an uplifting energy which is one of the fine factors of this genre. Silver moved on with this one as being his heart belonging to the song itself. It is one of the Italo-disco pieces which gives off all of the elements in a wonderful way.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Pretty Baby” and reworked the outline into a new ReStructure Mix. More of the piercing and direct keyboard moments into the mainstage for this remix.

ReStructure Mix Update (7/31/26): “Jump Down” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Belle Epoque
Belle Epoque is a French disco trio featuring Evelyne Verrecchia, Giusy Fortes and Marzia Thear. The third project titled “Now” from 1979 contains the single “Jump Down” - produced by Albert Weyman. The group has recently followed the disco in the European fashion and although there are plenty of electric keyboard segments the strings and horns have always been evident. The lead vocal from Evelyne has always been the forefront of the band's sound and it centers on a rock-edge approach to the build of each song. “Jump Down” has a fusion of funk, Latin and the disco edge created at the end of the 70s. Many of the elements pieced here are a progression of the sound that Belle Epoque centered on. It is a nice funky tribute to the end of the 70s disco era.
I have taken the 12” version of “Jump Down” and stripped down the funky guitar riffs into a new groove for this ReStructure Mix. I have added new drums to pound out the down beat rhythm guitars and added more of the breaks which make this one a unique dance experience.

ReStructure Mix Update (7/30/26): “One Life” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Laid Back
Laid Back are John Guldberg and Tim Stahl - a duo who created a sound for the 80s that was fresh and exhilarating. Their big radio/club hit “White Horse” from 1983 made them identifiable in for an audience who wanted songs for the dance floor and margarita and palapa scenes. “One Life” is from their 1985 project “Play It Straight” and is one of the synth-pop pieces with an infectious energy. The explanation of a wandering lover who is giving the finale moments before he moves on to live his “one life” is somewhat reflective and brings to mind an ultimatum with emotion and at the same time excitement. The vocals play out in a wonderful climatic chorus which brings on the display of this band's ability to weave a story within their pulsating energetic arrangement.
I have taken the 12” version (from the fabulous Shep Pettibone) of “One Life” and worked to create a new outline for this ReStructure Mix. The rhythmic electronic pieces are reassembled in a new way to briung this story to a new beginning.
