"Flashback" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Rozalin Woods

"Flashback" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Rozalin Woods

Rozalin Woods in a disco singer who released her first and only album in 1979 titled "Flashback" - the first big single and hit in the clubs during it's release was "Whatcha Gonna Do About It". The production by Ed Martinez (Al Wilson, Papa John Creach, N.E. Philly Band) is a full orchestrated and rich disco sound.

"Flashback" is the second single released which was released on a promo 12". It is a cover of a B-side from a 1973 45 single by Paul Anka. The disco version moves like a dramatic torch song and gives a moment to go back to the disco diva selling her emotions for the dancers to sweat to. There are a few samples to remind Rozalin of the reality of a lost love.

Dedicated to Nick and Lindsay - thanks for the request and bringing the disco-drama to life, once again!

"You're The One" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Boys Town Gang

"You're The One" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Boys Town Gang

Boys Town Gang is a disco project from the late disco producer, Bill Motley - whose intention was to provide dance floors with beautiful disco music in the early 80s - since many club-goers were not quite done dancing yet.

The first LP "Crusin' The Streets" is a classic with the glorious high energy/disco cover of Diana Ross' "Remember Me" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" (features Cynthia Manley on vocals). The follow up single is a remake of Little Sister's "You're The One" from 1970 - produced by Sly Stone.

I have taken the 12" mix on Moby Dick Records (San Francisco's own disco label in the early 80s) and ReStructured the track giving it a longer groove and also adding a few new surprises. The funky keyboards and horns are the heart and soul of underground disco music.

"Traffic Breakdown" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Boogie People

"Traffic Breakdown" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Boogie People

Boogie People is a Canadian produced disco project from Dominic Sciullo (Nancy Martin, Montreal) and Vincent Ciambrone (Claudia Hart, Tamara) - arranged in the full disco power mix - with plenty of bass, percussion, bongos, vibes and breaks.

"Traffic Breakdown" is a single released in 1980 - and was originally titled "Boogie Breakdown" as a B-side. This is a full force instrumental for the high energy portion of the night and also requires the dancers to follow each beat and synth loop. Very hypnotic and drenching!

I have taken the 12" version on Unidisc and ReStructured the instrumental in a new arrangement to remind us of just how those disco bongos were very contagious during the disco era.

"I'm Gonna Dance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Asha

"I'm Gonna Dance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Asha

Asha (Asha Puthli) has been recording since 1974 - and creating a captivating style of funk which began moving dance floors in a new way. It was her 1979 LP titled "L'Indiana" which struck the single "I'm Gonna Dance" on the Henry Stone label T.K. Records and created an underground hit in an new electro-vibe sound, yet Asha's commanding vocal style.

I have taken the 12" version of "I'm Gonna Dance" and created an alternative ReStructure Mix - editing the haunting like feel of the track with more of a echo of rhythm and drum fills which make the original the classic disco track that it has became.

Dedicated to Ms. Asha Puthli and thanks to her wonderful years of music and talent shared with the disco community.

This ReStructure Mix takes the album version 3 layers deeper with some samples from a one of ABBA's prior hits and another group of "visitors". Dedicated to ABBA fans around the world and the magic of disco music!

"Jump" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Pointer Sisters

"Jump" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Pointer Sisters
Pointer Sisters (Anita Pointer, June Pointer, Ruth Pointer) have been one the groups of the 80s whom helped save the disco mood and theme. Many of their pop-tracks stayed close to the dance formula and keeping the dance floor alive with energy and excitement.

"Jump" is from their big 1983 album "Contact" - where it seemed like an endless barrage of singles and hits were spinning out of control for the girls. Thank goodness for them and luck for us.

I have taken the 12" vocal and instrumental of "Jump" and created a new ReStructure Mix making the mood as festive and celebratory yet adding some new loops and edits to the recipe!

I have taken the 12" version of "Straight From The Heart" and have given it a ReStructure Mix to give it a new feel and to continue on the disco sound which makes the disco lover proud to dance and claim the legacy.

Dedicated to Mr. Tom Moulton - the man who made the 70s such a great place to live in and continue the memories with heart and soul!

"It's Over" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Alma Faye Brooks

"It's Over" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Alma Faye Brooks
Alma Faye Brooks is one of the artists from 1979 who brought excitement to the soul of disco music. Her album "Doin' It" was produced by Canadian producers Dominic Sciscente and Michel Daigle (Black Light Orchestra, Space Project).

"It's Over" was released as a 12" with the flip-side "Don't Fall In Love" - one powerhouse single for clubs during the finale phase of the disco era. Backed with the emotional and soulful vocals of Ms. Brooks you can sense the dedication to the art and creating dance music with intensity.

I have taken the original 12" version to recreate a new ReStructure Mix using a few new elements and breaking down that incredible rolling bass lines. This is one of the songs which brings to mind the word "classic" in it's first few minutes.

Dedicated to Nick and Lindsay and thanks for requesting this project which keeps the disco diva legend alive!

Today Cynthia continues to perform around the world and keep the uplifting feel of disco music alive.

"Working Girl" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Cheri

"Working Girl" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Cheri
Cheri is disco group from Montreal - Amy Roslyn and Rosalind Hunt (Geraldine Hunt's daughter and Freddie James' sister). Their first self-titled LP from 1982 featured their first big disco hit, "Murphy's Law".

"Working Girl" is from their Lp "Love Stew" from 1983 which was also a bug club record thanks to its bouncy house-like feel with a sassy, yet lyrical vocal.

I have taken the 12" of "Working Girl" and have given it a ReStructure Mix and work-over - creating another opportunity to "work it"!

"Time Of The Seasons" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Neil Cloud Orchestra

"Time Of The Seasons" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Neil Cloud Orchestra
The Neil Cloud Orchestra is a disco project from Neil Cloud - who was formerly a member of a 70s rock band titled Rabbitt. His production along with Mike Arato and Steve Thompson of The Zombies classic, "Time Of The Seasons" is a wonderful disco version with a soaring femme edge to the track. The percussion and rolling bass provide a wonderful transformation from psychedelic to mirror balls!

I have taken the original 12" version (both vocal and instrumental) on T.K. Disco and ReStructured a new version using samples of the original and rearranging and adding more of the beautiful instrumental for a dreamy sound.

Dedicated to Mr. Steve Thompson - thank you Steve for your wonderful work and talent!

"Music Machine" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Joel Diamond Experience

"Music Machine" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Joel Diamond Experience
Joel Diamond is a producer/songwriter who founded his own label, Silver Blue Records in the 70s - we were fortunate enough that his focus was on dance music - even though his credits include a long list of pop, blues and soul artists.

Joel Diamond Experience is a project from 1978 which uses all of the sounds and energy of disco music as it evolved from the early 70s. The album featured a list of performers and musicians who helped to make this project a disco-fun house. Vocals include Jocelyn Shaw (Brown), Zach Sanders and Gordon Grody.

"Music Machine" is a single from the album and is ReStructured here to emphasize the excitement and outline of disco music - with a country-edge added to give it a new touch.

Dedicated to Mr. Joel Diamond for his longevity in the music industry and his continued part in keeping the ears and feet satisfied!

"Rock Me Now" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Batah

"Rock Me Now" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Batah
Peter Batah is a Canadian disco artist whom released 2 big club hits during the early 80s transition from disco-to-high energy. "Rock Me Now" is his single from 1980 which created a craving for high-disco tracks all-over again in the early 80s. The track was produced by Claude Allard who also produced Black Star and Miki Hope - and also worked on tracks for Lime, France Joli, Freddie James, Suzy Q and U.N.. Some notes suggest this may even be Denis LePage under an alias.

I have taken the original Canadian 12" - using the vocal and instrumental creating a ReStructure Mix for "Rock Me Now" using more of the electronic features of the mix for a longer intro and more fantastic drop breaks in between. It is one of those rock-pop disco numbers similar to what Paul Sabu was releasing as Sabu.

"I Want A Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel

"I Want A Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel
Noel is a disco artist from 1979 brought to us by Ron Mael and Russell Mael - better known as the rock band Sparks. Following the release of the Mael Brothers LP "No. 1 In Heaven" which was produced by Giorgio Moroder - the electronic disco formula may have been a bit contagious and perplexing to these artists.

Taking their nu-wave-ish muse and applying a disco edge to the pulsating rhythms brought the LP "Is There More To Life Than Dancing" to life - the entire project is looked at by disco-collectors as classic dance material.

I have taken the album version of the closing track, "I Want A Man" (which I played out during it's release and in stand up bars in the 80s) and extended it and tweaked it into a new ReStructure Mix for you lovers of Noel, Sparks and the Moroder disco sound.
