ReStructure Mix Update (5/31/20) “No Credit Card” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Amanda Lear

ReStructure Mix Update (5/31/20) “No Credit Card” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Amanda Lear

Amanda Lear is one of the unique disco acts from the mid-70’s whose contributions include a journey into the disco-opera of Faust  In 1984 her single “No Credit Cards” was released and fit into the club high energy scene and was an outline again for Amanda’s vocal phrasing and style. The production by Roberto Gasparini (Alba, Valerie Dore) is a fast moving tale of a woman who was raised in the jungle finds herself in civilization with “no credit card” to purchase the diamonds she absconded. A bit of light hearted laughter in Amanda’s own delivery. The piece reminds me of a Bobby Orlando track with the percussion and rolling bass lines.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “No Credit Card” and replaced the very awkward situation in a new ReStructure Mix. A new percussion riff guides the adventure into a new form.

REISSUE: “Moonboots” by ORS (Orlando Riva Sound) – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Moonboots” by ORS (Orlando Riva Sound) – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera ORS is a German disco band formed by Anthony Monn (Amanda Lear, Magnifique) and Rainer Pietsch.. The sound formulated for dance floors was a studio band edge with the electronics to blend in with the innovation sequencer and electronics in the mid- and-end of 70s. “Moonboots” is from their 1978 album “Body To Body Body” and is one of the singles programmed by DJs thanks to Tom Moulton’s 12” remix. I have taken scenes from a favorite childhood show title “Gumby” –using the outline of the segment called “Gumby On The Moon” to give the disco track images which point to fantasy and rhythm. The show segment was directed by Art Clokey Featuring scenes from “Gumby On The Moon” – RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: “Pulstar” by Mc Lane Explosion – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Pulstar” by Mc Lane Explosion – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Mc Lane Explosion is a group created by Roland Romanelli (of Space) – electronic symphonies of disco orchestration with a space-age feel. The first project titled “Space Music” was released in France in 1977. It was re-released with remixes and a few additional tracks in the US in 1978. “Pulstar” is a track written by Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou (also known as Vangelis) which is the title track to the American release. It is a piece similar to much of the sound and style of Space material. I have taken the 1961 Italian science fiction film, “Battle Of The Worlds” starring Claude Rains and created a montage using the astronomical station, a military base on Mars and of course, “the big battle”. The film is an early special effects wonder with toy ships and real flames as the fuel. Quite campy! REISSUE: "The Visitors" by Gino Soccio - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "The Visitors" by Gino Soccio - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Disco music in the late 70's became quite progressive in electronics with the help of producers like Gino Soccio who helped to create Kebekelektrik ("Magic Fly", "War Dance") and Witch Queen ("Band A Gong"). It wasn't long after this time where Soccio created his own signature sound using innovation and style. His first LP "Outline" contained the disco staple, "Dancer". Each track on the project remains a mystery and influence to many disc jockeys and disco audiophiles. "The Visitors" is taken into a Disco Video Mix along with the 1951 sci-fi film, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" starring Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal. It gives the aura of this mix moment to remind us that our planet is ill prepared to deal with being from another galaxy - until we have learned to live with ourselves. REISSUE: "Instant Love" by Sylvia Love - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "Instant Love" by Sylvia Love - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Sylvia Love released her disco track, "Instant Love" in 1979 - produced by Trevor Vallis. Formulated in the D.D. Jackson "Automatic Lover" vein and using similar sequencers to Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" the track became more of an underground sensation. In the early 80's many of after-hours dance clubs with jocks assembling music that was fitting for dancing before the sun came up were placing this one on rotation. As the years have passed and much of the electronic influence in dance music has and continues to progress it is always interesting to look back at the pioneers who steered us in this direction. "Queen Of Outer Space" is one of the campiest science fiction takes in 1958 - starring Zsa Zsa Gabor and Eric Fleming leading the adventure. The story line is simple - the planet "Venus" (the planet of love) has kept men away until this a spaceship of 3 eligible bachelors convinces then that a waste of beauty is no good. This video mix salutes the "Cult Camp Classic" films and also the same sound in disco music, which follows along the outlines. Featuring scenes from "Queen Of Outer Space" -- RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: “Space Bass” by Slick – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Slick is a disco group consisting of musicians from the Fat Larry’s Band and also featured vocals from The Sweethearts of Sigma: Barbara Ingram, Carla Benson and Evette Benson. Their 1979 album featured a track titled “Space Bass” which became an instant disco classic with its funky-bass line which plays out like a soul-cha cha. It was an immensely popular track in my club and lasted throughout the mid-80s in dance palaces. I have taken the disco track and blended it with the 1979 adventure-sci fi television series, “Battlestar Galactica” starring Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict and Lorne Green. The concept feeds on the space discotheque scene which features disco star Pattie Brooks singing an out-site-outta space number, which is replaced with “Space Bass” It is a play on the “Star Wars” era. ReStructure Mix Update (5/30/20) “Some People” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cliff Richard

ReStructure Mix Update (5/30/20) “Some People” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cliff Richard

Cliff Richard is a vocalist and talent who have been recording since 1959 with a plethora of styles and songs. He is one of Britain’s foremost music vocalists and has always brought a romance and emotion to his music which brings us to 1989 and his project titled “Some People” – produced by Alan Tarney. The title track has always been one of my favorites from this 80s’s pop arena. It encompasses an emotional look at view of a love that is true and existent. One of the great 80’s tracks that did not quite reach the pop crossover it deserved and with its lasting heart and soul is a track that I get lost in even today.

I have taken the 12” version of “Some People” and recreated a more energy driven ReStructure Mix for a new visit to this anthem. The vocals are given a longer stage to spread love and care.

REISSUE: “Sexy Thrills” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Extensive Care

REISSUE: “Sexy Thrills” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Extensive Care Extensive Care is a Canadian disco project from producer, arranger and innovator of the heavy drums of disco music in the late 70s – Mr. Peter Di Milo. His classic band Erotic Drum Band is one of the big events of the underground club scene and one of the hardcore disco projects which helped to move dance music in a new direction. “Sexy Thrills” is a 1980 track from the album by the same name which gave the dance floor another dose of a flavor which used his trademark percussion along with an ensemble which brings a funky edge. His use of horns in a classic riff which brings a big band stand calling out dancers is fabulous. I have taken the 12” version of “Sexy Thrills” and took the elements that I can remember seeing my dance floor go into a dance frenzy over – in this ReStructure Mix. There is a new intro which introduces the attention in a new way. This remix salutes the man himself, Mr. Peter Di Milo and is dedicated to his mark left in disco history.

REISSUE: “In The Bush" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Musique

REISSUE: “In The Bush" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Musique
Patrick Adams is affiliated with some of the finest disco and dance music throughout the 70's and early 80's. His projects spanned from the early days of experimentation with a fusion of soul and funk - and then on to the days of the disco formula of the disco boom. In 1978 his production of Musique was a lid blowing off of the boiling dance floor. This LP included the sexy innuendo hit, "In The Bush" along with the frenetic, "Keep On Jumpin'" - both tracks were club hits running side by side. The vocals of Musique included Ms. Christine Wiltshire, Jocelyn Brown, Angela Howell and Gina Tharps - these ladies turned this LP in to a sensational event with a funky and luscious sound. The ReStructure Mix of "In The Bush" takes the incredible 12" remix by Mr. François Kevorkian and takes the snippets of the most memorable areas of the mix and recreates another dance experience. Dedicated to Mr. Adams and his continued belief that disco was an art!

REISSUE: “Love In 'C' Minor" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Cerrone
Euro-disco was born in 1976 when "Love In 'C' Minor" was composed by Alec R. Costandinos and Cerrone. This masterpiece has all of disco music's most authentic pieces rolled into one movement. Funky bass lines, string emsembles and a sexy chorus featuring Joanne Williams, Stephanie De Skyes,Madeline Bell, Jackie Sullivan and Jean Hawker. This is a ReStructure to pull the pieces apart and place them in a new order - a new percussion riff floats below the perfection in the original. Dedicated to "The Man" himself - Jean Marc Cerrone

REISSUE: "Sex" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester

REISSUE: "Sex" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester Sylvester’s 1984 album titled “M-105” is one of his most electric club projects from the 80s. Utilizing the high energy feel to it’s extreme on many of the dance tracks. “Sex” is the second single from the project and was produced by Tim Wirrick. I have take the album version of “Sex” and reworked the energy to a new ReStructure Mix . It has a bit more of the ricochet edits and the ominous build of the dark and sensual feel of the song.

REISSUE: "Sado Maso Disco" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Must

REISSUE: "Sado Maso Disco" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Must Must is a disco project from Brazil which plays with the sado maso fetish and takes it onto the chic dance floor with chants and play-time for adults. This campy little track proves that you have to have a sense of humor to give into disco music or good strong cat-o-nine-tails. It is a celebratory and dance injected number and comes from Michel Gouty, Celestin Ganou and Pierre Nacabal. I have taken the original 12” version “Sado Maso Disco” and have given it a ReStructure Mix adding another “playful” track in the 80s synth-pop genre to give it more humor to slap around. It is intended as fun and games – and not to be taken too seriously…otherwise, get a room.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/29/20) “Burn It Up, Mr. D.J.” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Risqué

Risqué is an electronic dance band from The Netherlands - Denise van der Hek), Donna Baron, Ingrid de Goede, Irene van der Hoeven. Their 1983 single titled “:Burn It Up (Mr. D.J.)” was an awaited release from the group who scored a place on dance floors a year earlier with “Girls Are Back In Town” – both produced by Coen Bais (Sensation, Snowflake) and John Tilly (Telekin, Forrest, Future). This group is one of the stylized girl groups of the 80’s – very much like Bananarama. “Burn It Up, Mr. D.J.” Is a frenetic piece that delivers the wonderful energy this ensemble has contributed to the dance music scene in the early 80’s? The masterful electronic arrangement from John Tilly plays out marvelously and gives this number the right amount of pulse it needs.

I have taken the 12” club and instrumental versions of “Burn It Up, Mr. D.J.” and reedited a ReStructure Mix to blend more of this magic in a new way. There is more percussion which stands out over those silky voices.

REISSUE: "Remember" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gino Soccio

REISSUE: "Remember" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gino Soccio
Gino Soccio released "Face To Face" in 1982 - it was his fourth project beginning with the success of his classic LP "Outline" - his sound was a unique blend of disco and the sharp edge of electronics. Quite a genius in his own time and even today is respected as an innovative writer, producer and musician. "Remember" is from the 1982 LP and is a track that emphasizes on sequencers and a dreamy-like feel. A great off-beat choice for disco music and was a big part of the 80's dance scene allowing disco artists to experiment a bit more.

REISSUE: “Midnight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Passengers

REISSUE: “Midnight” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Passengers Passengers are an Italo-disco group who is best known for their big dance floor hit “Hot Leather” from 1979. The group consists of Chuck Rolando, Elwanda Contreras, Gesualdo Arena and Kathleen Flynn on vocals and arrangements by Celso Valli (Tantra, Lama, V.I.S.A., and Nuggets). “Midnight” is a single released in 1981 and is pure Italo-disco laid out – produced by Angelo and Felix Piccarreda. This one is more of an early morning sound with the synths rolling in a hypnotic arrangement and keyboards sparkling the sound of magic throughout. A different edge than more of their high energy pieces but more of a deeper feel for their uplifting vocals. I have taken the 12” single of “Midnight” and reworked parts of the song to make this ReStructure Mix which uses more percussion to pump the energy up. It remains as the original as far as vocal arrangements and just a few effects and loops added to the instrumental arrangement to make it last longer.

REISSUE: "Fly With The Wind" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Jacques Band

REISSUE: "Fly With The Wind" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Jacques Band Jacques Fred Petrus produced many disco sessions in Italy during the late 70's - some of his best know are Macho ("I'm A Man") and Peter Jacques Band ("Fire Night Dance" - with the help of arranger Mauro Malavasi there was distinctive sound that displayed how disco music was growing and adapting with time. "Fly With The Wind" is the finale track on this album and always amazed me (as the entire session has) on how beautifully produced and arranged it was. My only attempt at this ReStructure Mix was to expose the song to new listeners and create a new version to become hypnotized to.

REISSUE: “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mighty Pope

REISSUE: “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mighty Pope Mighty Pope (Earl Heedram) is a Jamaican-Canadian singer who began his recording career in 1970 and in 1979 the disco community was fortunate enough to receive a project from this talent vocalist and also the best of the Canadian disco team: John Driscol, Gino Soccio and Denis Le Page. Released on Ray Caviano’s disco label RFC, this album hit at the peak of disco fever. The tracks echoed more of the work from both Soccio and Driscol and similar to recent dance projects from their magic. Denis Le Page of Lime fame is also added here programming synthesizers as another great touch from the Canadian line-up. Mighty Pope’s cover of Iron Butterfly’s “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” is one of the songs which immediately caught my curiosity since the realm of one-sided/extended disco recordings were most likely influenced by the original release of Iron Butterfly’s classic, which was a side long rock movement. The eerie feel of the song was a perfect spot for disco music to inject its cause. I have taken the LP version of “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” and also pieces of the original rock classic to blend a ReStructure Mix paying tribute to both. A build on the intro is intended to relay the familiar edge of what I had experienced in dance music from the 70s and the psychedelic rock scene of the 60s. Rearranging each part of the disco version is placed for the outcome of the emotion and lasting experience.

REISSUE: “Walking In The Neon” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Peter Richard

REISSUE: “Walking In The Neon” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Peter Richard Peter Richard is an Italo-disco artist with one of the 80s most hypnotic and experimental pieces of its time. The project is arranged by Celso Valli who is responsible for many classic Italian dance tracks from Tantra, VISA, Lama and Azoto. This one weaves a sci-fi feel with a deep bass loop which brings to mind the genius of Giorgio Moroder when placed in the electronic dance arena. Percussion is pounding out an ethereal space journey which takes place on the dance floor. A masterpiece from the Italo-disco catalogue. I have taken the 12” version of “Walking In The Neon” and recreated another trip into disco heaven. More percussion is lightly added to the underground feel of this track and of course it is extended to give the followers of such a long lasting high.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/28/20) “Love Attack” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Amber

ReStructure Mix Update (5/28/20) “Love Attack” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Amber

Amber is a disco band from 1978 who recorded with The Deep South Dance Band on three 12” singles. “Love Attack” is from 1979 and outline disco music at its peak. The bass sequencers pumping the energy and the chorus girls leading the dance into an uplifting and melodic experience. It is the style that made disco music the adoring for many of the time. This one powers up with the concept of being taken over by and incontrollable urge on the dance floor and builds over and over and our chorus ignites. This one was an underground hit and follows the disco era to its finale. The production is by Carson Whittsett and M. Mullen and gives us that early high energy feel that rolls on and on.

I have taken the 12” version of “Love Attack” and re-edited the track into a new ReStructure Mix. I used the bass synths as a new foundation and added some percussion to give it more hi-end as well as energy. He chorus has been broken down into a new arrangement also.

Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Ritz is Kofi Missah, Ruby James and Tony Jackson -- a disco trio who gave us one album titled "Puttin' On The Ritz" produced by Ken Gold. The album featured two dance floor hits: "Locomotion" and "Dance Until You Drop". The timing of this project may have prevented the group from gaining more popularity. The arrangements were a nice style of funk and disco. I have taken the track "Dance Until You Drop" and blended it with the 1969 drama, "They Shoot Horses Don't They"" starring Jane Fonda and Michael Sarrazin. The film centers around a Depression-era dance marathon and the drama of the contestant participating and the physical draining of this knock down-drag out contest. It plays out with the title and mild atmospheric sound of this disco single. The film was directed by Sydney Pollack Featuring scenes from "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" -- RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: “Cherchez la Femme” by Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band is a break through disco project from 1976 which took the big band sound of Cab Calloway and blended it with a disco beat. The first album was a great success in introducing a new formula to dance floors in a complete package. “Cherchez la Femme” was a radio and club hit and featured Ms. Cory Daye in the vocal spotlight and alluring many new fans to this style and also a solo album released in 1979. I have taken scenes from the 1973 comedy “Paper Moon” from Peter Bogdanovich and starring Ryan O’Neal, Madeline Kahn and Tatum O’Neal to emphasize a whole new drama for Ryan as he travels through the great depression – finding “la femme”. It plays out in bits and pieces as Cory weaves the well-known disco tale with a new twist. My edit focuses on Madeline’s fabulous campy portrayal of this character. REISSUE: “Begin The Beguine” by Johnny Mathis – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Begin The Beguine” by Johnny Mathis – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Johnny Mathis is a voice recognizable in 50s and 60s love songs. One of the male vocalists with a sound that brings many emotions to the heart and soul. Johnny’s 1979 album “The Best Days of My Life” follow the trend for many artists of the time by entering the disco arena bringing his talent using his style. The project was produced by Jack Gold and featured a cover of Cole Porter’s classic piece “Begin The Beguine”. A 12” single did very well with clubs featuring the glorious disco arrangement in a tradition that brings the feel of energy and the fantasy of the disco era. I have taken the album version of “Begin The Beguine” and created a Disco Video Mix with scenes from the 2004 musical portrait of songwriter Cole Porter – “De-Lovely”. The wonderful biopic plays out with the hypnotic feel of the classic song. The film stars Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd and much of the start and closing of the romance and life of the unique relationship are the focus. ReStructure Mix Update (5/27/20) “On The Road To Mandalay” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Harlow

Harlow is a Canadian disco project from producers Mike Alyanak, Steve Alexander and Bertch Alyanak – vocals are provided by Joanne Perica, Johanna Vanderkley and Linda Hanchar. Their big club hit “Take Off” from 1981 was a high energy baby for dance floors and where club music was headed in the early 80’s. It was a touch of the disco fantasy with the chorus girls leading the way. :”On The Road To Mandalay” is their 1983elease from their “At Midnight” album. This one as a much an adventure for Harlow once again taking us on a spiritual adventure into a place of calm and serene. It is another piece that accentuates the vibe of true disco in a crossover mode.

I have taken the 12” version of “On The Road To Mandalay” and reworked the path for this ReStructure Mix. The track is extended on the breaks and instrumental parts to give it me of that escape on the dance floor feel.

REISSUE: “In The Middle” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Unlimited Touch

REISSUE: “In The Middle” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Unlimited Touch Unlimited Touch is one of the New York Funk bands during the early 80’s from the Prelude Records label. Produced by Raymond Reid and William Anderson formerly of the group Crown Heights Affair. This ensemble is a big hit on the dance floors during the formulation and peak of this genre of dance music which focused on a soulful edge with more electro-funk elements. “In The Middle” is a single that was actually side-b of their big hit “I Hear Music In The Streets” from 1980. The lead vocal by Audrey Wheeler is the force behind this number and plays out with passion and funk. One of my favorites of the period and a lasting impression of New York Funk. I have taken the 12” version of “In The Middle” and created a new ReStructure Mix taking the vocals into a deep dive of a dub-like environment. I have added a deep bass beat and more of the existing percussion to give this monster more juice.

REISSUE: “Your Good Lovin’” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – France Joli

REISSUE: “Your Good Lovin’” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – France Joli France Joli is the one disco music’s most exciting voices. Her big dance hit “Come To Me” from 1979 gave the closing of the disco era a crescendo. Her 1980 album “Now!” and her third was a turn for France to the sound which her label, Prelude Records was creating for the 80s – New York Funk. The production by Ray Reid and William Anderson (Crown Heights Affair) gave us an opportunity to hear France and her lovely vocals in a funky setting. “Your Good Lovin’” is the second single from the project following “Gonna Get Over You”. It is another great love song which gives us some slick keyboards and funk beats and was produced by Darryl Payne and Eric Matthew (Sharon Redd. Gary’s Gang) and features an arrangement by Giuliano Salerni (Ultimate, Strange Affair, Bonnie Boyer). I have taken the original album version and recreated a ReStructure Mix using the loop edits for a new approach. I have extended it for more of France’s outstanding performance and of course the backing vocals of Fonzi Thornton and Dolette McDonald. A funk fest made in New York and branded the same!

REISSUE: "I'm A Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Macho

REISSUE: "I'm A Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Macho "I'm A Man" brought a whole new dimension to disco music. It was apart of the Jacques Fred Petrus sound which Prelude Records distributed in the US and Goody Music worked internationally. The synthetic tracks introduced a whole new concept to dance floors across the country. It was an exciting time. With the LP version clocking in a 17:45 minutes this mix was another experiment in "how much can you take?" The answer is now history. The original mix by Tom Savarese is an ingenious display of how disco music blossomed into an electronic symphony of sounds. My ReStructure mix is dedicated to Tom and his part is disco history.

REISSUE: “Disco Power” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – U.N.

REISSUE: “Disco Power” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – U.N. U.N. is a disco project from producer Tony Green who also delivered classic by France Joli, Freddie James, Norma Lewis, Geraldine Hunt, Caroline Bernier and many early disco and high energy projects. This production features the lead vocals of Goldie Alexander (“Show You My Love”) and backing are The Sweethearts of Sigma (Barbra Ingram, Carla Benson and Evette Benton). “Disco Power” is the first release and pulls a punch with its tribute to the music of the time which created a unity and lasting feeling of good energy and celebration. This one is the essence of the energy which disco music became from the mid and late 70s. I have taken the album version of “Disco Power” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix which adds more of the riffs in places where it pumps more energy out of this geyser of disco percussion, handclaps and bass. It is a tribute to Tony Green and Denis Le Page who arranged this powerhouse album.

REISSUE: “On A Journey (I Sing The Funk Electric)” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Elektrik Funk

REISSUE: “On A Journey (I Sing The Funk Electric)” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Elektrik Funk Elektrik Funk is an electronic-garage project from producers, Darryl Payne and Eric Matthew – the boys who also gave us Sharon Redd, Sinnamon, Eazy, Gary’s Gang, Miles Watson and many projects in the early and late 80s. This strange edged track introduced a soulful-garage vocal with an unusual theme aimed at traveling through a groove with the mind. A big hit for my club at the time since the instrumental provide a long mix alternative or longer intro to the funk-driven vocal. I have created a ReStructure Mix here with a piece added from the “Fame” soundtrack which seems obvious why – yet I worked to take the keyboards and separate some of the punchiest segments out. It has the feel of a funk set – yet the underground sound of an early morning gem. This is a new journey – one I hope you can feel in your mind and feet!

ReStructure Mix Update (5/26/20) “You Know I Like It” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nick Straker Band

ReStructure Mix Update (5/26/20) “You Know I Like It” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nick Straker Band

Nick Straker Band is one of the groups that helped to move dance music into the 80’s with their diverse delivery of dance music. Their 1980 dance track “Leaving On The Midnight Train” is a venture into the disco/high energy sound and following were a few jazz-infused tracks which gave them their signature sound. “A Little Bit Of Jazz” and “A Walk In The Park” from 1979 were both club favorites and helped to move the dance sound into a new era of 80’s disco music. “You Know I Like It” is a single from 1983 which gained allot of attention from the jocks who were playing more of the British jazz sound that allowed a lower BPM funk style. This one has that shinny effervescent sound which disco music was known for and made Nick Straker another fond choice for club music lovers.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of ”You Know I Like It” and moved to create a new element for the chants and rhythm. There is a longer intro with some new looping effects to give this one more magnetism.
