ReStructure Mix Update (5/16/20) “Motown Review” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Philly Cream

ReStructure Mix Update (5/16/20) “Motown Review” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Philly Cream

Philly Cream is a studio group composed of players from another group titled Fat Larry’s Band – also recording under the Fantasy/WMOT Records label. Their 1979 single “Motown Review” is one of the exciting tributes (disco style) to the Motown Records era and the wonderful music it created. The funky guitar riffs, bongos and drum riffs are the similar sounds of another project titled Slick (“Space Bass”). The single has a retro feel that honors the time period and most of all the Motown sound. It is one of the big radio tracks which also received lots of club play.

I have taken the 12” version of “Motown Review” and transformed the sound into a new ReStructure Mix. The drums are used throughout this new version as a new weight for the rhythm and pieces of Motown are scattered to bring the real deal together.
