REISSUE: "Where There's Smoke There's Fire" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Ava Cherry Ava Cherry’s “Where There’s Smoke There’s Fire” was released on Curtum Records (Curtis Mayfield’s label) in 1980. This was one of the highest disco productions to peak the clubs with some fine elements created by musicians from the era. This track was produced by Bobby Eli and featured some of disco’s finest musicians pounding out the rhythms and laying the ground for Ava’s fantastic vocals. I have extended the original mix with some new rhythm tracks perking up only the foreground – the song stands majestically on it’s own. It is a wonderful song that should remain a part of disco’s historical trade.
