REISSUE: “I Don't Wanna Lose It” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Bambu’

REISSUE: “I Don't Wanna Lose It” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Bambu’ Bambu’ is a disco project from 1979 produced by Jorge Barreiro who also worked on projects by Black Ivory, J.O.B. Orchestra and J.R. Funk and The Love Machine. Bambu’ is the disco production that hustle clubs clamored for. A distinct layer of Afro-Cuban percussion and swirling strings which blend as a Euro-disco piece but with a live band feel. ““I Don't Wanna Lose It” is a sweet love song that brings a short and simple message that gives his lover security and gratitude. The mid 70s 12” market was tailored for this style of disco music with the sound created for and by dancers in the club environment. This was essentially the hardcore underground dance music of its time. I have taken the 12” version of ““I Don't Wanna Lose It” and used the strings and the bass riffs as the layout for this ReStructure Mix. More of the yearning vocals parts are inserted and the percussion breaks placed in a few new places. A great keepsake of a period when disco music was a specialized sound, mix and package for dancers and audiophiles.
