"Grateful" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester

"Grateful" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester

Sylvester (Sylvester James) hit the disco scene in 1977 with a self-titled album containing the garage classic "Over and Over". His second project titled "Step II" was co-produced by Harvey Fuqua and featured synthesizers by Patrick Cowley.

"Grateful" is another track from the "Step II" album which contained the energy of the disco era and encompassed Sylvester belief in life - "to be grateful!" It is a celebratory track and still holds the key to keeping your life humble and happy.

I have ReStructured this track and extended it's 3:27 timing to a little over 8:00 to give the happiness a go at it a bit longer!

"Remember" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gino Soccio

"Remember" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gino Soccio

Gino Soccio released "Face To Face" in 1982 - it was his fourth project beginning with the success of his classic LP "Outline" - his sound was a unique blend of disco and the sharp edge of electronics. Quite a genius in his own time and even today is respected as an innovative writer, producer and musician.

"Remember" is from the 1982 LP and is a track that emphasizes on sequencers and a dreamy-like feel. A great off-beat choice for disco music and was a big part of the 80's dance scene allowing disco artists to experiment a bit more.

"Discognosis" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Discognosis

"Discognosis" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Discognosis

Discognosis is an early project from 1977 by Michael Lewis and Lauren Rinder - along with producers, Ed Cobb and Ray Harris. The starting phase for AVI Records who became a trademark for disco music in the mid and late 80's.

This LP was similar to El Coco which Rinder and Lewis brought to life in 1975 with the first LP titled "Mondo Disco". The single "Discognosis" is a session with the funky bass line that their projects were so namely for, as well as plenty of slick keyboards.

Disco music has grown and yet learned from projects as this and continue to return to the roots for the base of this funky formula.

This ReStructure Mix creates another breakdown mix for this classic sound - and also adds a few new pieces to give a whole new sound to move to.

Dedicated with respect and homage to the wonderful men who keep the faith of disco music alive, forever - Michael W. Lewis and Lauren Rinder

"First Hand Experience In Second Hand Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Giorgio

"First Hand Experience In Second Hand Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Giorgio

Giorgio Moroder receives another visit to his "From Here To Eternity" project - this time around the track "First Hand Experience In Second Hand Love". The disco answer to "Love Potion #9" - where a man visits the mystic lady to find a clue and instead finds love.

One of Moroder's most hypnotic projects and weaving of sequencers and keyboards create a classic that continues to mystify listeners and dancers throughout time.

I have ReStructured the track by extending segments and adding a few new drum and rhythm beats - as well as some new features to help bring the song to life again.

Dedicated to the hardcore Moroder fans who keep his wonderful music alive.

"Magic Nights" by Zara-Thustra - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

"Magic Nights" by Zara-Thustra - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Zara-Thustra is a German band consisting of Alfons Weindorf, Clemens Weindorf and Eberhard Wilhelm - their 1986 dance single "Magic Nights" was a track, which was quite popular in hardcore dance clubs. A perfect early morning record - very melodic and beautiful.

I have used the song in this Disco Video Mix along with scenes from the 1989 film "Longtime Companion" - a film that depicts the AIDS epidemic in the 80's and the crisis, tears and strength it created. I have dedicated this project to those who have lost loved ones to this devastating disease. The footage takes the scenes from the lives of the characters from the story and outlines the theme of the song.

I believe the "Magic Nights" will always live - the time we shares - laughed, loved and celebrated and eventually said "goodbye" to our unfortunate loved ones. It is meant as a tribute to the strength and courage of those survivors who still hold those great moments.

The film stars Bruce Davidson, Campbell Scott, Patrick Cassidy, and Brian Cousins - it was directed by Norman Rene

"Memory" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Menage

"Memory" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Menage

Menage is a disco project from Warren Schatz (Vicki Sue Robinson, The Brothers, The New York Community Choir) and Eric Matthew (Gary's Gang, Sharon Redd) that creates disco melodies from Broadway tunes and pop-hits. Their 1983 single "Memory (Theme from Cats)" was a instant hit - since dance floors in the early 80's were still searching for the lyrical sound of disco music.

I have taken the track and given it a new arrangement and flow with a ReStructure Mix - a request made from Tony B. from San Diego. I promised Tony I would create a new mix and here is that moment. The cover has always been one of my favorites so remixing it was a joy!

"Miss Broadway" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Belle Epoque

"Miss Broadway" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Belle Epoque

Belle Epoque is Evelyn Verrecchia, Giusy ortes and Marzia Thear - their 1977 LP "Miss Broadway" was producer Prima Linea and his artistic femme concept. The single is the first of the numbers from the group to make a mark on dance floors and is one of the well-known.

I have taken "Miss Broadway" with it's memorable lead and bass guitar track and extended pieces and added a few new beat tracks and percussion. It is a project long coming since the track did some good for me in programs at the end of the 70's.

"Anybody Wanna Party" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor's "Love Tracks" LP from 1978 does not only contain the disco anthem, "I Will Survive" - on the funkier side Gloria has asked the question that many of us have answered, "Heck yah!" "Anybody Wanna Party" And so the disco era was complete.

The song is ReStructured thanks to a request from Bob T. - it is broken into bits and then pieced back to together with a new drum beat and some new effects. I have always favored this song and had a great time remixing it for you.

"You Can't Turn Me Off (In The Middle Of Turning Me On)" by High Ingery - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

"You Can't Turn Me Off (In The Middle Of Turning Me On)" by High Ingery - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

High Inergy is a female ensemble from the Motown Family who were styled after The Supremes - and even take their name from a Supreme's LP. The group shared a success with their 1977 LP "Turnin' On" which included the single "You Can't Turn Me Off (In The Middle Of Turning Me On)" which reached #2 on the soul charts and #12 on the pop charts.

The group recorded several projects up to 1983 and then disbanded - however their contribution with "You Can't Turn Me Off" keeps their memory alive forever in disco land.

I have taken the 1987 romantic comedy "Mannequin" and paired up the track for a spin with Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall. It is a silly film about a window dresser who falls for a mannequin who comes to life thanks to an old Egyptian spell. The romance works well with the flow of the song.

"From East To West" by Voyage - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

"From East To West" by Voyage - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

The 1977 LP "Voyage" by Voyage marks a place in disco history that is hard to forget. It is a time where Euro-disco painted strong images and feelings for a dance floor waiting to be taken away to a fantasy world. The title track "From East To West" is a classic and leaves the imagination feeling unlimited - as well as the dance floor ready for more.

The project was produced by Roger Tokarz and features musicians Marc Chantereau, Pierre Alain Dahan and Slim Pezin as well as many backup ensembles from Cerrone and Munich disco recording sessions.

I have taken the 1956 adventure film, "Around The World In 80 Days" based on the Jules Verne's novel and placed scenes and images in this Disco Video Mix. The scenic quality works quite well and leaves little wonder on how this song by Voyage has become a classic piece for disco lovers all over the world.

"One Small Step" by Apollo II - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

"One Small Step" by Apollo II - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

The 1988 electronic street beat track "One Small Step" from Apollo II gets the Disco Video Mix treatment. John Davies and Nigel Stock of Passion Records produce the song. It is highly influenced by tracks like "19" by Paul Hardcastle with the "Mars walk" in mind.

I have taken the 1977 film "Capricorn One" starring Elliott Gould, James Brolin and Sam Waterston - the film centered on a hoax and conspiracy from the government to keep a failed mission alive. The visuals are farther out into space - but work as well for the disco track.

The film was directed by Peter Hyams

"Trippin' On The Moon" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix -Cerrone

"Trippin' On The Moon" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix -Cerrone

Cerrone traveled throughout many periods of dance music without losing a beat. His innovative nature gave him the opportunity to thrive in the disco garden throughout the mid 70's and even currently.

In the 80's Cerrone faced a time where disco music became more electronic - leaving the sound of symphonia and big production sound behind. IT was during this time where an artists is challenged and the worthy survive. Cerrone handles this very well with his production of "Trippin' On The Moon". The LP "Backtrack" offered several concepts that keep the disco theme alive.

I have taken the now cult classic "Trippin' On The Moon" and have sprinkled my own concept of "the sounds that last throughout time" - embellishing the classic track with the energy and power it has - hoping to keep it alive for more celebration.

"Dancing and Romancing" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Passion

"Dancing and Romancing" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Passion

Disco music evolved during the mid 70's thanks to producers like Ray Martinez - a Cuban born songwriter, musician and singer. His style was a smooth Euro-disco feel done with a Miami flair. It was unforgettable on dance floors and helped to tame many dancers looking for the beauty in dance music.

Passion is a project Martinez produced and created in 1979 which marked not only the changing of an era but also the breaths of what disco music had become. "Dancing and Romancing" is from the LP and has always been one of my favorites.

I have ReStructured "Dancing and Romancing" using the piano, strings and bass elements to work a whole new feeling. The wonderful bongo and rhythm tracks of the original have also been slightly enhanced.

Dedicated to Mr. Ray Martinez for being one of the great producers who truly respected disco music and it's dancers.

"It Must Be Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Alton McClain and Destiny

"It Must Be Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Alton McClain and Destiny

Alton McClain and Destony (D'Marie Warren and Robyrda Stiger) are girl group responsible for the 1978 dance floor hit "It Must Be Love" - produced by John Footman and Frank Wilson.

The song became an instant radio hit and it's response on dance floors was equally positive. The song is a funk/soul recipe with a fantastic vocal performance by the trio. It is reminiscent of great Motown productions with the alluring girl group sound.

I have ReStructured the track since it is an all-time favorite and have given it a new intro and stretched a few segments out as well as rearrange the flow. It is still one of those classics that bring to mind the disco edge with lots of soul.
