ReStructure Mix Update (5/29/26): ”From Here To Eternity” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Hananas

Hananas is an Italo-disco project from Mauro Farina, Pierre Feroldi and Roberto Arduini. This electronic ensemble released a cover of Giorgio Moroder’s classic “From Here To Eternity” on Zanza Records. A synth-trip from the early 80s where the simplistic arrangement was to emulate the Moroder genius note per note. This cover takes a nice edge and yet relays less of a sweet resonance as the original and more of a robotic impression. The programming of sequencers were the factor in attempting to bring this classic in the Italo-disco arena and is given the accolades for the moment and savvy for the good taste of disco classics.

I have taken the 12” vocal and dub of Hananas’ cover of “From Here To Eternity” and reworked the elements of both into a new ReStructure Mix. I have used the segment of “Utopia-Me Giorgio” (which seems to have been used in most covers of this track) and used it more of the preface of the remix.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/28/26): ”Saved” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Grace Jones

Grace Jones is one of unique acts to have captured the stage in music history. During the formulation of disco music in the mid and late 70s her presence has always drawn curious and surprised responses. Her music during the disco years was a flavor of symphonic disco arrangements along with her daring flare and overpowering stance.  “Muse” is the title of her 1979 project and was produced by Tom Moulton. This wicked disco features a medley with a tale of shifts in attitude during a dark side and eventually ending with “Saved”. This gospel fused piece is Grace’s most exuberant tracks from her disco albums giving her the freedom to relay uplifting excitement yet the somewhat reluctance of her personality. This number closes out the segued side one medley in an appropriate manner and gives us another side of Jones.

I have taken the album version of “Saved” and reworked the church organs and backing vocals from The Brotherhood into a new ReStructure Mix. The building verses are distributed in a new way and also given more space for breaks and loop-effects.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/25/26): ”Put Yourself In My Place” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – TJM

TJM is a disco project from legendary disco remix engineer and music producer, Thomas Jerome Moulton. This 1979 album was released on Casablanca Records and features a four track disco/soul production with a full orchestration and arrangement with Arthur Baker. Vocals are provided by the ensemble The Brotherhood - who were also featured on Grace Jones’ “Muse” project also produced by Tom Moulton. “Put Yourself In My Place” has a heavy dose of soul music and its wear on heartache and pain. It is not surprising for Moulton to deliver a soulful edge with the disco flare included. The breaks are the disco stamps on these heavily percussion sprinkled over the groove which gives off a more eminent purpose for dance floors in the late 70s. The arrangement of “Put Yourself In My Place” is a Moulton masterpiece as the main riffs become the focal point of the song itself. TJM is a must for any disco audiophile who is desirous of the dance floor experience of the 70s.

I placed the album version of “Put Yourself In My Place” onto the ReStructure Mix cutting block to give the piece another round. I have used parts of the original outline and completed my remix in new segments and purpose.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/23/26): ”Perfect Moment” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mary Griffin

Mary Griffin is a vocalist and songwriter with an unforgettable voice which resonates and inspires. Her 2000 single “Perfect Moment” is one of the tracks from the period to make a transition from club to pop-techno. The track was a ballad she performed and was then produced by Almighty Associates as a hard hitting dance floor piece. The momentum of Mary’s powerful vocal sends chills more than chills as a ballad it also gives the warmth of a love inspirational song. The build on this one is a climb to the top of an energy force which delivers a wonderful fulfillment with meaning. It is a great song to accompany a time when songs like Cher’s “Believe” moved the world and dance floors in the same way.

I have taken the 12” versions of “Perfect Moment” including the ballad and realigned the song for a  new ReStructure Mix. A transition from the energy of each version is treated to  a new purpose where you can dance right into the “perfect moment”.

REISSUE: "On The Road Again" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Rockets

Rockets are Claude Lemoine, Alain Groetzinger, Alain Maratrat, André Thus, Bernard Torelli, Christian Le Bartz, Fabrice Quagliotti, Gerard L'Her and Sal Solo. This futuristic styled band in the late 70’s became an underground hit with their sound engaging a mix of synthetic effects with a rock fused style. “One The Road Again” is from their 1978 project by the same title and is one of their signature tracks. A touch of doo-wop meets disco/space funk. Their sound changed in the 80’s to more of a nu-wave influence and also gave them more of an opportunity to utilize their unique stage presence. Rockets are in indeed one of the sounds of the late 70s which was unique and ahead of its sound.

I have taken the 12” version of “On The Road Again” and worked it into a new ReStructure Mix. A bass beat with more of a union for this space age piece is added for a rhythmic feel and more of the sequencers are placed among the journey here.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Antonio Fisichella – thanks for requesting this great band for a remix and may the force stay with you!

ReStructure Mix Update (5/21/26): ”Don’t Drop Bombs” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Liza Minnelli

Liza Minnelli (daughter of Judy Garland) came a long way to become the stage legend throughout her career. Her teaming with dance/disco producers Neil Tennent and Chris Lowe (Pet Shop Boys) in the late 80s became an iconic moment for her talent. Taking Liza into their dance realm and utilizing the presence of a somewhat reluctant subject they transformed her Broadway roots into a pop-masterpiece. Blending her as a subject for themes and ideas for each of the tracks for the project titled “Results” was fabulously executed. “Don’t Drop Bombs” is a brilliant transformation of Liza asking her cheating lover to cease with the pain and although it was always clear that something was never quite right - she is ready to fight back and let go. The electronic arrangement explodes, literally over and over with clever riffs and moments where one wonders if the energy takes Liza into a very comfortable place.

I have taken the 12” vocal, instrumental and dub of “Don’t Drop Bombs” and reignited the song for a new ReStructure Mix. A layout which plays out for more new segues and drop-outs are created for this kitschy number.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/15/26): ”Keep Warm” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jinny

Jinny is an Italo-house project from Alessandro Gilardi, Walter Cremonini and Claudio Varola. Their first single  “I Need Your Love” from 1990 set a formula similar to Black Box’s “Ride On Time” where a mixture of existing phrases from an underground classic dance track is followed by vocals and ad-libs (here provided by Janine Brown & later Carryl Varley) uniting two separate subjects to a pumping house rhythm. “Keep Warm” is their 1991 follow-up which is the most notable and received radio play here in the US as a part of dance sets. “Keep Warm” has a horn riff which beats the heck out of the flowing rhythm section which uses it as a cool towel during a sweaty workout. One of the treasures of the Italo-house period and one which gives off the sound which helped to move dance floors in a whole new direction.

I have taken parts of the various versions of “Keep Warm” and blended and edited pieces into a new ReStructure Mix to pump the house in the Italo-style. A new down deep pounds the pieces assembled again to praise the dance floor again.

The Key:

The Key:

Stevie Wonder taught us that “music is the key of life” - it was the first time in my life when I embraced music as magic in my world. After many years of spinning in clubs, houses and auditoriums I realize that it is also the “safe in our lives" - it helps and maintains those wonderful memories from the past and gives them a great soundtrack to replay with. Music is universal and gives me the need to continually celebrate its ebullient  magic.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/12/26): ”Candy” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore is a pop-singer from the late 90s who released her project titled “So Real” in 1999 - featuring her dance single “Candy” produced by JIVE. The track is a catchy pop number which outlines an obvious connection to the Britney Spears sensation earlier and makes a few new marks on dance floors with the club remix versions by Hex Hector and Ritchie Santana. “Candy” is a high school crush brought to life with lots of dedication to a love who is resisting an invitation. The chorus is a catchy phrase which makes this song work along with Mandy adorable riffs here and there.

I have taken the 12” remixes by Hector and Santana of “Candy”
and blended them both into a new sweet ReStructure Mix. Layering the percussion of both along the new arrangement and some new breaks.

ReStructure Mix Update (5/10/26): ”Can’t Give Me Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Pepsie and Shirlie

Pepsie and Shirlie are an 80s duo who began as back-up singers for George Michael and Andrew Ridgely of WHAM!. The road to their solo career came in 1986 with the release of their single “Heartache” - produced by Tambi Fernando. Their first album titled “All Right Now” was then released in 1987 giving them several successful singles including “Can’t Give Me Love” which is a track where one meets the obvious conclusion that a relationship is one sided and over. The yearning in this number works well as both ladies careen back and forth on the complicated details yet knowing that the time has come to make it the end. A nice soft edge of rock pieces together this infectious single and makes it all worthwhile to discover these two talented ladies.

I have taken the 12” version of “Can’t Give Me Love” and re-initiated the final word in a new ReStructure Mix. I have added more of the rhythmic portions and have given them more of an opportunity to kick this song up.
