ReStructure Mix Update (5/4/26): ”Roll” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Macho

Macho is a disco project from producer Jacques Fred Petrus - who also gave us Change, Rudy, Peter Jacques Band, Hi-Gloss, Revanche, Midnight Gang and Caprice. Along with arrangers Mauro Malavasi and Celso Valli, they brought disco music to its destination with the many dance floor hits and impressions left. Macho is one of their early projects from 1978 where a disco-fied version of Steve Winwood’s “I’m A Man” was taken into an electronic fantasy disco style. From there on the creativity was endless for their projects. “Roll” is from the second Macho project from 1980 and builds as the palate for their music always has. A fierce heavy guitar strom builds into a revelation of adventure and staking claim in constant roaming. It is a great follow up for those who are fans of Petrus and Malavasi along with their choice of chorus vocalist including Luther Vandross and Arthur Simms.

I have taken the album version of “Roll” and re-initiated another trip for this ReStructure Mix. Stretching out the intro for the new direction and also providing more space for this infectious track to make it mark.
