Pepsie and Shirlie are an 80s duo who began as back-up singers for George Michael and Andrew Ridgely of WHAM!. The road to their solo career came in 1986 with the release of their single “Heartache” - produced by Tambi Fernando. Their first album titled “All Right Now” was then released in 1987 giving them several successful singles including “Can’t Give Me Love” which is a track where one meets the obvious conclusion that a relationship is one sided and over. The yearning in this number works well as both ladies careen back and forth on the complicated details yet knowing that the time has come to make it the end. A nice soft edge of rock pieces together this infectious single and makes it all worthwhile to discover these two talented ladies.
I have taken the 12” version of “Can’t Give Me Love” and re-initiated the final word in a new ReStructure Mix. I have added more of the rhythmic portions and have given them more of an opportunity to kick this song up.
