ReStructure Mix Update (8/31/19) “Flamethrower” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The J. Geils Band

The J. Geils Band is one of the 70’s rock super groups with 11 albums to their credit during the time period. “Freeze-Frame” is their 1981 project and features several hit singles including “Flamethrower” which gave the crew a crossover dance number that also became an instrumental for a rap song from Felix & Jarvis in 1982. This piece used a hard pounding drum to give the rock edged song a hardcore rhythmic sound. It is one of the nice elements as well as the story of a woman so hot and sexy she leaves flames wherever she goes. A big crossover dance number for The J. Geils Band and a piece of 80’s dance history.

I have taken the album version of “Flamethrower” and pounded out a new ReStructure Mix with more of the energy for the dancers who stills can take the heat. There are a few more breaks and breakdowns for this story of a siren that makes head spin.

REISSUE:  "In The Navy” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Village People

Village People are the disco gems of the late 70s with the stage line up which displayed the various gay fantasies which creator and producer Jacques Morali opened a closet door wide and at the perfect time in the music world. What began a studio session group soon became one of the most celebrated and popular camp groups of all time. Victor Willis, Randy Jones, Alex Briley, Felipe Rose, David “Scar” Hodo and Glenn Hughes are the boys who would take this moment into history. “In The Navy” is from their 1979 album “Go West” and plays out as a disco parade. It is the magic of disco thanks to Jacques Morali and Henry Belolo and their orchestrated disco arrangements that bring these men to another level.

I have taken the album and 12” versions of “In The Navy” and worked this ReStructure Mix to pay homage to Village People and Jacques Morali. This dub-edge version makes use of the disco bass, claps and percussion which are the essence of the 70s. I have rearranged the verses and laid them out in a new mix to bring a new “adventure” to life for those die-hard fans.

REISSUE: "Ready For The 80s” by Village People – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Village People released their fifth album in 1979 and appropriately featured a sendoff of the fabulous 70s into the adventurous and new 80s. Music would change but the need to dance did not cease. The album titled, “Live and Sleazy” featured three sides from a live concert and four new songs. “Ready For The 80s” I decided to use homage to the new crop of images, music and talent of the 80s – I may have left a few out – but this is the blend in the kaleidoscope of art.

The medley is dedicated to all of you – for without your dedication and love for dance music the mirror ball would have stopped a long time ago. Keep that uplifting feeling alive!

REISSUE: "Macho Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Village People

Jacques Morali created the Village People out of "mans image" - well, a "Macho Man's" image. This was one of the perfect hits of it's time - releasing the right amount of disco aroma to fill any discotheque. A new ReStructure divides the breaks in places that I feel were needed. The 70's can live again for a full 8 minutes of listening to this wonderful camp tune.

REISSUE: “In Hollywood (Everybody Is A Star)” by Village People – Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

The 1977 Village People hit, “In Hollywood (Everyone Is A Star)” from their first LP titled, “Village People” gets the Video Mix treatment here. A darker side of Hollywood all together with the use of excerpts from John Schlesinger’s 1975 film, “Day Of The Locust” staring Karen Black, Donald Sutherland and William Atherton.

The film gives a dramatic depiction of the lure of Hollywood in the 1930’s but also the dark and dreary side of how the dream of stardom left many empty minded and handed. The films climatic ending where a symbolic deterioration of society and its need for violence for change.

On the lighter side of this arena, the Village People track has always been a festive opportunity for dance and celebration. The meeting of these 2 elements is only for entertainment purposes and my lure for the left-field style of filmmaking.

NOTE: The drag sequence used in this Video Mix features none other than Paul Jabara – in another rare movie appearance.

REISSUE: "Can't Stop The Music" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Village People

The big close of an era of disco music is the climatic track from Village People and Jacques Morali, who produced and composed. The theme from the short-lived film which was awaited so as the big disco epic. It did not do so well in the theatre arena but picked up on the soundtrack end. And with Village People and The Ritchie Family as featured artists it was all disco fans needed.

"Can't Stop The Music" is ReStructured from the 12" long version and given a few new pieces to remind you of the disco floor and it's allure.

Dedicated to the boys from the troupe and their everlasting effect on the uplifting sound and period of disco music.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/30/19) “American Man” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ladies Choice

Ladies Choice is an electronic dance project from Gino D’ Orazio and Tony Bentivegna of Nightlife Unlimited. One of the big Canadian disco singles of the early 80’s and a huge dance floor packer for me. This one uses all of the keyboard power to generate a rolling dance track that has more power to it than a protein drink. It reverberates back and forth as the Lime hits of the time and features their vocalist from Motion (“Don’t Stop”) – an earlier hit project.

I have taken the 12” version of “American Man” and recharged the experience in this ReStructure Mix using the syn-drum riffs and keyboards in a new arrangement. A sexy break is added to explain just what those “American Men” can do.

REISSUE: "Show Me Yours" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Corruption

Corruption is a studio band produced by Barry Blum and John Hedges - a fast and intricate electronic track that is hypnotic and sensual. It centers around the emphasis of 'show and tell' with a bit more intention.

The song was released in 1981 on a double album compilation called "Prime Cuts 1 (The Double Album)" on Importe/12 Records and also on Disconet Program Service. It is one of the perfect sleaze records that works on both dance floors and stand up clubs.

I have ReStructured the track and given it a bit deeper push off of the edge adding a bit more of the heavenly sensual vocals and choruses. It has always been one favorite and now giving a new version.

Dedicated the master disco producer, John Hedges

REISSUE:  “(Won’t You) Dance With Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Nina Schiller (formerly Crystal & The Team)

Nina Schiller is one of the voices of the early 80s from the San Francisco disco resurgence movement whom brought a beauty to dance music. It was producer, Bill Motley who also created Boys Town Gang (“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”) in the wake of period where a lack of high energy dance music was missing. Not only were the pounding disco drums scarce but the beautiful string and horn arrangements also. Motley created that feel once again with a single from Crystal & The Team in 1981 along with DJs Craig Morley and Mike Lewis. The single “(Won’t You) Dance With Me” was a fast rolling dance number which featured vocalist Nina Schiller on lead vocals. Her delivery was a great move for the number and created an underground audience for this swirling sound.

I have taken the original 12” vocal and instrumental versions on Moby Dick Records and weaved a new lengthier ReStructure Mix with a few new touches to make this classic another event. The beautiful and operatic vocal is still intact with Nina’s fabulous delivery.

REISSUE: "Temptation Eyes" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gino Soccio

REISSUE: "Temptation Eyes" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gino Soccio

Gino Soccio marks the end of the seventies with a style of electronic dance which matures in an ambient and new-age vibe – with rhythm and funk. His move throughout the 80s was marked three unique albums to his sound. Each is an innovative and genius attempt for this musician, songwriter and artist.

“Temptation Eyes” is Soccio’s cover of The Grass Roots 1971 pop-rock classic. Performed in Soccio’s programmed rhythm and interpretive style. This was released as a 12” single in 1985 and was a gift for those who could get lost in the simple layering and sound of Gino Soccio’s productions and arrangements.

This ReStructure Mix is an alternative to the 12” and gives a few moments of earlier work on the “Outline” album. It was a reason to play with Gino’s work again and hear that build over and over again.

REISSUE: Dance In Your Pants Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix Erotic Drum Band

REISSUE: Dance In Your Pants   Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix   Erotic Drum Band

Erotic Drum Band is a disco project from 1978 led by producer Peter Di Milo (Ann Joy, Sugar Band Express, Champagne Explosion, Nightlife Unlimited, Jump) and Matthew Campanozzi. A blend of pulsating keyboards and heavy drums in variations which gave dance floors a new fuse. The underground disco sound is alive within this concept band and is considered one of the classic doorways to the disco craze of the late 70s. “Dance In Your Pants” is from their second album from 1980 and pulls out the excitement of the dance floor once again.

I have taken the album version of “Dance In Your Pants” and crated a ReStructure Mix which extended the rolling drums and adds more breaks and a gust appearance from The Godfather of Soul. A new angle of the song is solely dedicated to the man who made it all happen – Peter Dimilo.

REISSUE: "Passion" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Flirts

REISSUE: "Passion" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Flirts

The Flirts are the 80s answer to the synth-pop disco/nu wave dance sound - with the master of 80s dance Bobby Orlando as the conductor. The group emerged in 1982 with their first dance floor hit, "Passion" and lead the way for Orlando to conquer and leave dancers yearning for that rolling synthesizer and rhythmic percussion.

The changing trio of chorus divas has left many tracks which have lasted throughout time regardless of their campy and sometimes silly themes. The Flirts have truly managed to keep the camp and beat alive.

I have ReStructured their big one, "Passion" into a breakdown of that bass synth and some of the tie-lines of the song to give it an alternative mix. It has always been one I have reached floor to pack the floor and even today cannot get the words "passion" out of my mind once it starts!

REISSUE: "Cosmic Voyager" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Kano

Kano is Luciano Ninzatti, Stefano Pulga and Matteo Bonsanto - their first album from 1980 contained some of the progressive dance floor material with a heavy Italo-disco influence. "I'm Ready" from this LP is an icon for disco, electro and break-beats and continues as a powerful disco track.

"Cosmic Voyager" is an instrumental track from the album which closes the set. It is one of the genuine sounds of Italo-disco with an electronic approach to the coming of techno music - most likely influenced by producers like Giorgio Moroder.

I have taken the album version and created a new ReStructure Mix laying out an extended intro and giving segments an opportunity to feel more evident - and also add a special guest computer: "HAL" to the mix.

REISSUE: “Three Time Lover” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Bardeux

REISSUE:  “Three Time Lover” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Bardeux

Bardeux is Acacia Smith and Melanie Taylor – a 80s duo sweetly displaying the disco production of Jon St. James who also gave the familiar sound of Stacy Q (“Two Of Hearts”). This was the rebirth of the high energy sound in a stripped down West Coast sound that echoes a touch of the gentle female vocal exuding a sensual and pulsating dance momentum. The mid-80s gave way to another side of the dance floor where a light cowbell filled the thumping beat for a new period. “Three Time Lover” from 1987 is close cousin of “Two Of Hearts” with an attraction which dominated the late period of the 80s.

I have taken the 12” “Circus” and “European” mixes and reworked a slippery and pulsating new ReStructure Mix with more of those warm bass synth patterns re-edited and reworked. A few samples from The Partridge Family give a flavor that repays the call to love here. This is one that used to drive my dance floor into a frenzy on a peak hour-Saturday night and this homage to the high energy force is a welcomed.

REISSUE: “Light A Light" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peppermint

REISSUE: “Light A Light" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peppermint

Peppermint is a disco/high energy project from German musician, engineer and producer, Helmut Rulofs - who also brought us tracks by Gilla, Harry Baier, Vanilla and Touch. His 1985 club hit is an uplifting disco-ditty with a nice rolling sound and celebratory feel. It is one of the electronic disco tracks of the time you would hear from club-to-club during the time.

I have taken the original 12” version and have worked a ReStructure Mix to create an alternative version with more chopping than The Cooking Channel but just as delicious as those disco chorus girls unite to salute a rodeo like showdown. It is pure fun and the mix is intended to keep the sound of 80s high energy on your mind and your feet moving!

REISSUE: “Eye Contact” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Casanova

REISSUE:  “Eye Contact” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Casanova

Casanova is a disco project from 1983 from Sheila E. Washington (Amuka Kelly) and Stephen C. Washington. The electronic force behind this one forms well with the robotic voice that bellows out the eyes watching from the sidelines – catching the energy and excitement of a dance floor in full force. This one was always on my playlist during its release and creates a mechanical syndrum feel with fast moving keyboards, beats and the pulsating energy. A great blend of the 80s dance allure with high energy. The vocals which are featured though a vocoder are the club diva Amuka Kelly which plays out well with this theme as well as ticket to a completely new sound than their project Civil Attack, also on Salsoul Records.

I have taken the 12” versions Part 1 & 2 to create this ReStructure Mix which outlines the electronic sound with more of what makes it work. I have added a new surprise from a classic Moroder/Summer track to help brand a new edge. This one has always been a favorite and I am happy to keep it alive.

REISSUE: “Casanova Action" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Latin Lover

REISSUE: “Casanova Action" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Latin Lover

Latin Lover is a high energy disco-studio band from German producers Mark Kramer and Theo Werdin (Scott Marlowe "Living In Chinatown"). The group had three dance floor hits: "Laser Light", "Dr. Love" and "Casanova Action" in the mid-80s.

"Casanova Action" is a fine example of how high energy music took 80s dance floors hostage with it's powerful fusion of heavy synthesizers, infectious keyboards and odd-themes.

I have taken the 12" original mix of "Casanova Action" and have given it the ReStructure Mix treatment - adding a few machine-gun loops and new drum breaks. It is truly one of the tracks that made my feet move during its time and is now a classic among club collectors.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Vivian Marie C.. from Facebook - work it, Vivian!

Fern Kinney made a bit break in discotheques with her 1979 hit, “Groove Me” - an electronic cover of King Floyd’s classic track. In 1981 Fern released her second album titled “Fern” - a track that was a b-side to her single “Love Me Tonight” was another cover - this time Shirley and Lee’s rock ‘n’ roll hit “Let The Good Times Roll” - the arrangement was a bouncy spaced-out feel complete with lunar lading effects.

I have taken the 1973 film by George Lucas “American Graffiti starring Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul LeMat, Cindy Williams and Harrison Ford and matched the nostalgia to a different beat. The film is a classic among rock ‘n’ roll fans and now a new outline gives it a new life.

Kryptonite is a disco group from the early 80s created by Joe La Greca and John McDiamoid. The Canadian trio released four 12” singles which detailed the sound of changing disco music from the late 70s to the 80s high energy scenes.

I have taken their disco cover of Gary Glitter’s “I Rock and Roll” and blended it with scenes and images from the 1975 film by Ken Russell, “Tommy” – starring Roger Daltrey, Ann Margret and Oliver Reed. The film is based on The Who’s rock opera by the same name – the story of a psychosomatically deaf, dumb and blind boy becomes a master pinball player and the object of a religious cult.

REISSUE: "We're Gonna Rock" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sabu

Paul Sabu was the producer and artist to top the late 70s off with arrangements and production which are the icing on the disco-cake. Most of his productions have become classics with the style and sound this talented man created. His work has included artists such as Debbie Jacobs, Ann Margret and Sister Power all of which created a whirlwind on dance floors during their release. His 1979 album titled “Sabu” brought a rock-edged rhythm to dance floors and made each night more exciting. His guitar play and vocal in tracks from this project introduced a new energy to dancers. “We’re Gonna Rock” is the single which received a big reception and hands pounding up to the mirror-ball in an anthem like feel.

I have taken the album version of “We’re Gonna Rock” and created this ReStructure Mix breaking apart the infectious rhythm section with some of the playful looping and machine-gun edits to bring an alternative version to feel the fire balls explode right before the deejay booth. It is one of the Saturday night favorites and peak-hour tracks that I would love to transition to for a new layer of energy.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to the “Rockin’ Rollin’ Disco King” himself, Mr. Paul Sabu in appreciation for his talents in producing, mixing and performing to keep the celebration worth it.

Jorge Barreiro produced Caution in 1980 - his past work included Black Ivory, Disco Rollers, Bamboo ("I Don't Wanna Lose It") and J.R. and The Love Machine. The single "Let It In (Rock)" was a disco blend of distorted guitars and heavy disco bass - along with a mimic rock vocal. The song always sounded like a follow up to Chi Chi Favales and The Black and White Band.

I have taken the track and blended it with the 1979 film starring Bette Midler, "The Rose" -using the concert sequences as the metaphor in the light rock essence of this disco track.

REISSUE: "Rock Me Now" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Batah

Peter Batah is a Canadian disco artist whom released 2 big club hits during the early 80s transition from disco-to-high energy. "Rock Me Now" is his single from 1980 which created a craving for high-disco tracks all-over again in the early 80s. The track was produced by Claude Allard who also produced Black Star and Miki Hope - and also worked on tracks for Lime, France Joli, Freddie James, Suzy Q and U.N.. Some notes suggest this may even be Denis LePage under an alias.

I have taken the original Canadian 12" - using the vocal and instrumental creating a ReStructure Mix for "Rock Me Now" using more of the electronic features of the mix for a longer intro and more fantastic drop breaks in between. It is one of those rock-pop disco numbers similar to what Paul Sabu was releasing as Sabu.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/27/19) “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Culture Club

Culture Club is George O’Dowd, Jon Moss, Roy Hay, and Michael Craig. The early 80’s were the place for this band and their music contains the sound which brought dance floors back into the dance mode. “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” is a reggae based track which is one their first big hits both on radio and dance floors. It remains one of the permanent fixtures of the 80’s generation and also a sound which echoes a past momentum of dance music history,

I have taken the 12” vocal and dub version to recapture “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” in the Restructure Mix vein. More of an early morning feel with more Afro-Cuban bongos and a downbeat. The essence of the song remains and only echoes more of that club atmosphere.

REISSUE: “Hold Back” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Valerie Krystal

Valerie Krystal is a Candian disco project from Gino D’Orazio and Tony Bentivegna – the duo which brought us Blue Lazer, Ladies Choice, Motion and Nightlife Unlimited. They were the pair which helped to save dance floors during the early 80s by creating a full electronic wall of sound to maintain our position on the dance floor. “Hold Back” is from the 1983 album “Piece Of My Heart” which displays the familiar synth and keyboard work from the D’Orazio and Bentivegna arrangement and recordings of the time. There is pleasant melodic feel to Valerie’s vocals and pulse of this track and has always been a floor packer for me. It is also one of my favorites from these Canadian wonder boys.

I have taken the original 12” version of “Hold Back” and created a lengthier and more break driven ReStructure Mix which keeps that bouncy continuity moving along. It was fun to play with this one and hoping that first time listeners will find they missed a sweet little dance number – but now theirs!

REISSUE: “Lisa, Lisa” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Body Heat

REISSUE:  “Lisa, Lisa” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Body Heat

Body Heat is a disco project from producer Teneen Ali. Their 1982 single “Lisa, Lisa” is one of the high energy pieces on Canadian label J.C. Records (for Jerry Cucuzella) which was an early sign of high energy music be coming of age. This piece has a sensual femme overtone of voices and sexy chorus innuendos. A disco approach with the right formula of rhythm and percussion.

I have taken the 12” version of “Lisa, Lisa” and reworked a ReStructure Mix using the fast paced rhythm segments to a new pace. More of the sensual elements are placed in breakdowns and build-ups to energy. One of the big opportunities here are the excitement which high energy and disco music create.

REISSUE: “Love School” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Susan Stevens

REISSUE: “Love School” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Susan Stevens

Susan Stevens is a Canadian disco artist from Gino D’Orazio and Tony Bentivegna – the boys who brought us Blue Lazer, Ladies Choice, Motion and Nightlife Unlimited. It was the early 80s new arrangement for disco music in an all-electronic form. The effects blast here and there like a video game – and add some excitement and energy in a spaced-dance experience.

“Love School” is a single released in 1983 and added more wizardry and winding sequencers to balance out Susan’s delicate and sweet vocal. It has always been a favorite among after-hours dee-jays and high energy clubs of the time. This ReStructure Mix breaks the firm pieces of the songs into parts and reassembles them into a more beat-driven arrangement. Some new pounding breaks and effects arte added along to way to accentuate the style of the Canadian producers.

REISSUE: “Whatcha’ Gonna Do” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Stephanie Wells

REISSUE: “Whatcha’ Gonna Do” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Stephanie Wells

Stephanie Wells is a Canadian disco artists from producers Gino D’ Orazio and Tony Bentivegna (Nightlife Unlimited) and released one album titled “Fools In Love”. A big stamp on the Canadian disco import label Tojo Records in 1983 where much of the electronic dance tracks were creating a stir again on dance floors. This was the dawning of high energy music which was given its name since the electronic sound produced a nonstop rolling edge. “Whatcha’ Gonna Do” is that disco vein where the beautiful vocal is the top of level of the track and the swirling sounds created with keyboards and sequencers are the orchestral foundation. It is the return to the underground feel of disco music where the rhythm was the true essence.

I have taken the 12” version of “Whatcha’ Gonna Do” and worked a new ReStructure Mix not only extending the beauty of its lyrical verses but adding a new intro and breaks. The keyboard synth is extended the way I hear it in my head and the chorus still shines. A great track that helped to save the dance floors again in the early 80s with a return to the disco passion that had not yet ended.

REISSUE: "Computer Music" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Suzy Q

Suzy Q began a studio concept by Canadian producer, Jerry Cucuzzella - during the period of "Computer Music" which was released in 1985 lead vocals were performed by Angie Vileno.

"Computer Music" is one of the 80s high-NRG gems. It has the lovely and sweet melodic disco diva welcoming fantasy for the dance floor and music pumping out an aerobic-like workout.,

I have taken the original 12" and ReStructured a journey for this track and added a few "computer" elements to fit into a new technology and meaning.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/26/19) “Leavin' The Good Life Behind” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Phyllis Hyman

Phyllis Hyman is a vocalist whom brought to dance music sweetness and unique soulful rendition which paints experience and emotion. Her 1975 initial release is a single titled “Leavin' The Good Life Behind” – wonderfully produced by George Kerr (The O'Jays, Florence Ballard, Linda Jones) and gives way to the soulful connection of soul and disco in its early stages. The single was mixed by the legendary Mr. Tom Moulton and displays that instrumental insert which so many dancer s adored during these club years. Phyllis plays out this romance gone wrong as an anthem-like track and once again makes heartache feel so real – as her vocals relay so well. A great retro piece and another powerful statement for the early sound of dance music.

I have taken the long version from the 7” single and have given it the ReStructure Mix treatment making it a new emotional dance piece. The rolling ball and rhythm guitars are made more evident and play out as new breaks and riffs.

Celso Valli created Azoto in 1978 with their first LP "Music Makers Ltd." - it was Italo-disco of the late 70's. A formulation of synthesizers, strings, bass and heavy percussion.

The follow up LP "Disco Fizz" was released in 1979 featuring several dance floor classics: "Anytime Or Place", "Soft Emotion" and "San Salvador". All with the lyrical feel of pure Euro-disco and the edge, which Valli places in his compositions and productions.

"San Salvador" is featured in this Disco Video Mix along with scenes from the 1984 adventure film, "Romancing The Stone" starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito - a film about a romance novel caught in a dangerous adventure - and although the film takes place in Columbia, Ken and I agreed the festive nature belongs wonderfully with Azoto's Italo-disco classic.

The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis

Fun Fun is Spagna, Antonella Pepe, and Angela Parisio on vocals. An Italian disco project from Alvaro Ugolini and Dario Rainmondi and a non-stop dance floor hit machine from 1982 – 1987. “Living In Japan” is their single from the album “Have Fun!” – an electronic trip with romance in the land of the rising sun. One of the big hits for me during its release since the sound of Fun Fun is so recognizable and ‘fun’ to move with. This is also one of the sweetest of their vocal recordings and great kickin’ mid-tempo rhythms.

I have taken scenes from the 1961 Toho Studios fantasy film, “Mothra” – centering in on the “Shobijin” twins who entertain us in this mild and short tribute to Fun Fun and also segments of the ritual for their god, Mothra.

REISSUE: "New York City Rhythm" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow brought the 70s a wonderful collection of pop ballads in a style all of his own. He is truly one of the talents who made love songs feel even warmer.

His memorable disco era hit "Copacabana (At The Copa)" is one of the pop-dance tracks which made disco music alluring for many artists to dabble themselves. His double album "Barry Manilow LIVE" from 1977 featured "New York City Rhythm" which gave the city another meaning for the excitement and diversity of such a city.

I have taken the LP version and ReStructured the song with a few new angles - extending the Latin breaks and accentuating some of the wonderful lyrics for a deeper listening and dance experience. It is an uplifting Broadway-meets-discotheque sound.

Thanks to Paul C. for requesting this little gem. I appreciate the love you have for your city. I can feel it again, in this song.

REISSUE: “San Francisco” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cappuccino

REISSUE: “San Francisco” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cappuccino

Cappuccino is a disco group from 1979 produced by Danilo Vaona and Gian Pietro Felisatti and featured three singles that are a legacy of the sound of disco’s uplifting and melodic sound. The production displays a few sounds including the symphonic edge of a disco anthem to an underground afterhours feel. “San Francisco” is a single from the self-titled which rings out as anthem for the West Coast city and a few hooks leave the track echoing as an anthem should.

I have taken the album version of “San Francisco” to create a ReStructure Mix to bring another good-feeling alive again. The vocals playout as the energy which is full-on disco music in its top form. A few new parts are added and an intro which offers more of a fading intro rather than the original horn arrangement. It is a nice uplifting song and a group which holds many fond memories of a crowded dance floor and when programmed an overall good aura in the room.

Voyage is a disco European disco band consisting of many musicians whom were involved in various disco projects during the late 70s as studio musicians. The production was under the direction of Roger Tokarz – who also worked with Voyage band member Pierre Alain Dahan with a project titled The Peppers.

“Orient Express” is a track from the first album from Voyage and is an instrumental track featuring sitars and wind instruments to create the atmospheric feel of the orient and its mystery.

I have taken the 1952 film “Road To Bali” starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour into this Disco Video Mix to complete the adventurous sound. The scenes featuring exotic dancers are the hit on the Maluku Islands.
