ReStructure Mix Update (8/15/19) “Standing In The Shadows of Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Deborah Washington

ReStructure Mix Update (8/15/19) “Standing In The Shadows of Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Deborah Washington

Deborah Washington is one of the early talents of disco music with several big dance floor hits to her arsenal. “Standing In The Shadows of Love” is Deborah’s cover of The Four Tops – Motown classic in disco chic exuberance. The opening of the original is a piece titled “Love Shadow” which is a segue into the excitement. Most disco productions which focused their attention to the dance found and created an introduction to the big main dance number which was as exciting as the drop out in techno music was in the 90’s. The production by George Tobin (Tiffany, Kenny Rogers, Thelma Houston and Tina Turner) and Mike Piccirillo (Robert John, Kim Carnes, Smokey Robinson) is a deep dive into the disco pool and as deep as the edge. A nice track that echoes the sound of a pounding beat creating bodies that just could not stop moving.

I have taken the album version of “Standing In The Shadows of Love” using only a segment of “Love Shadows” as a breakdown in this new ReStructure Mix. A new beat and percussion track is added to beef up this classic remake and keep the feet moving as this one did when it was released.
