Culture Club is George O’Dowd, Jon Moss, Roy Hay, and Michael Craig. The early 80’s were the place for this band and their music contains the sound which brought dance floors back into the dance mode. “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” is a reggae based track which is one their first big hits both on radio and dance floors. It remains one of the permanent fixtures of the 80’s generation and also a sound which echoes a past momentum of dance music history,
I have taken the 12” vocal and dub version to recapture “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” in the Restructure Mix vein. More of an early morning feel with more Afro-Cuban bongos and a downbeat. The essence of the song remains and only echoes more of that club atmosphere.
