Staxx is Simon Thorne and Tom Jones - a house music project featuring Carol Leeming on lead vocals. Their 1993 single “Joy” is one of the high points of house music in general. It has a fusion of techno lightly sprinkled throughout the piece with an uplifting energy which is truly infectious. This project is a formula which made house music the leading edge during the 90s. Also known as So Damn Tuff in prior productions this group delivers the title “joy” over and over again with a slammin’ outline and wonderful mood.
I have taken the 12” “Lovejoy Vocal” mix of “Joy” and revamped the energy for this new ReStructure Mix. There is a delay in the intro for the drama purposes and more of Carol’s exciting vocal.
