ReStructure Mix Update (9/11/26): “Open The Secret Door"  – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Masquerade

Masquerade is Boris Midney's fourth project - who took the disco sound and created a sound all his making. With music elements arranged in an artistic and raw manner. When a beautiful string and piano interlude could suddenly open a wall of bongos and percussion. His work was magic at a time when disco music was at its creative peak. “Open The Secret Door” comes from his project titled Masquerade - a discofied interpretation of the tale, Pinocchio. This version with a disco edge outlining the funkiness of the puppet as he is carved by his master and eventually discovers his way to becoming a real human boy throughout his disco adventure. “Open The Secret Door” is the finale where Midney takes the tale and puts an ending where it is all art becoming life. His orchestrations here are a bit subtle and less symphonic as it outlines the story in a raw but creative manner.

I have taken the album version of “Open The Secret Door” and placed it with care as it is from one of my favorite producers, arrangers and groups of the disco era and played it out in a new ReStructure Mix. There is a new rhythm track assisting the groove and a few new segments added for the retelling of this great disco track.
