ReStructure Mix Update (1/16/20) “Shake It Up” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Koxo

Koxo is an Italo-disco project from Leonardo Re Cecconi, Anne Dattner and Mack Mc Kwaia. They released two singles during the early years when experimentation in a new style of dance music in 80’s began. “Shake It Up” is from 1983 and delivers nice mid-range energy with a dream like quality. It is the Italo-disco stamp of the time when energy was in the electronic flow rather than build. This one always stuck in my mind as the simple sound of feeling good as disco music left us in the late 70’s. The keyboards are performed in a mellow delivery and vocals are a combination of light hearted chorus riffs. An Italian disco moment which made the era of this music unique and effective.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Shake It Up” and transformed it into a new ReStructure Mix adding more percussion to kick up the energy. More of the trickling keyboards lead the new arrangement into a slight drop out of bongos and tambourines.
