REISSUE: “Mi Corazón” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kat Mandu
Kat Mandu is disco project from producers Denis Lapage (Lime) and Joe LaGreca. Their big 1979 disco hit “The Break” was a step towards a whole new take on the disco instrumental with a full force of percussion and lush strings. It was one of the dance floor hits that lured many more into the underground feel of disco. “Mi Corazón” is a track from the album and features vocal by Jimmy Ray and an awesome bass line from Kathleen Dyson. A touch of “La Bamba’ with much more romance injected make this cut one of the nice additions to an early evening set or a touch dancing competition. Always one of my favorites from the album. I have taken the album version of “Mi Corazón” and reworked the percussion into a new ReStructure Mix which points towards the full-force percussion and the sweetness of the theme and vocals.
