REISSUE: “Good, Good Tequila” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Diva Gray and Oyster

REISSUE: “Good, Good Tequila” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Diva Gray and Oyster Diva Gray is one of the finest voices in disco, soul and funk music. You may recall the early peak of disco music with session bands like Bionic Boogie, Change, Lemon where Ms. Gray gave these projects a lift with her vocal talent and range. Oyster is a session group produced by Luigi Ojival who also produced C.K.B. and 1er Discopera. The project where he features Diva as the lead in a fantasy-like chorus of uplifting disco tracks is “Hotel Paradise” from 1979. Several cuts from the album were successful in clubs and one of the winding energetic pieces titled “Good, Good Tequila” is one of my favorites thanks to Ms. Gray’s tantalizing performance. This one has the feel of a high energy anthem which unleashes a pulsating sound and ravishing lead vocal. This track is one of the peak disco numbers that reminds me of the best of disco when disco was on top on the world. I have taken the album version of “Good, Good Tequila” and reworked the elements which have made it memorable for me in this ReStructure Mix. It gives way to a longer intro where the keyboards are laid out for a new excitement and more of Diva Gray and that “yummy juice”!
