Giorgio Moroder made his mark in the 70’s with his innovative work with electronic music and style and this eventually led him into scoring a motion picture soundtrack for the 1978 film, “Midnight Express”. The movement titled “Chase” became focus for a dance version which became a big hit on dance floors. My experience with Moroder’s soundtracks brought to mind the organ music behind the silent movie; out lineg the drama as it unfolds. In 1985 Moroder released a compilation of his work up to date titled, “From Here To Eternity..And Back” which also featured a new recording of “Chase” for the 1985 sound. This new version was kicked with new beats and stripped down the basics of the composition. It displays a raw feel and a bit less of what the original created yet it is still one of Moroder’s must feel as his music continues to influence artists and minds.
I have taken the album version of “Chase 1985” and reapplied some effects and phasing for this ReStructure Mix. The keyboards play out in several segments for a new effect and new percussion gives it a slight lift.
