REISSUE: “Your Love Left Its Mark On Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sarah Dash

Sarah Dash is a soul-disco singer whose career is best known with the trio Labelle from the early seventies along with Pattie Labelle and Nona Hendryx. Sarah’s solo recording career began in 1978 with her big disco hit “Sinner Man” – produced by Gary Knight, Gene Allan, Jay Siegal and Wally Gold – under the direction of Don Kirshner. The reaction to this single was a welcoming site for many whose affection for artist with a soulful gift to bring a new edge to the forefront. “You Love Left Its Mark On Me” is one of the tracks from Sarah’s second solo album titled “Oo-La-La” and is a funky dance track with the bassline to work under a funk-tastic performance. She takes this heartache into a showcase of her vocal teasing and play.

I have taken the album version of “Your Love Left Its Mark On Me” and reworked a ReStructure Mix adding a new intro and breaks. I have worked on laying out more of the rhythm guitars into the spotlight and using some new percussion to give it more of a “dub” feel.
