Digital Emotion is a Dutch electronic disco group with Cickie De Beer, Jean François Colombo and Myrna Balrak – and produced by Adams & Fleisner. The early 80’s began to utilize the elements left from disco music of the 70’s in many hardcore areas of those who had not yet received their fill of dancing. Digital Emotion is a take on that energy and groups like this re-wired dance floors for “high energy” music throughout the rest of the 80’s. “Don’t Stop” is their 1983 release and is a segmentation of effects and rolling synthesizers that build the power behind this style. The vocals are only the chants and mantras of the theme in each piece. Even the title of the band or project emphasizes the complete digitalized world of electronic music.
I have taken the 12” version of “Don’t Stop” and have given it a whole stripped down identity in this ReStructure Mix. The chorus become the alter and the sequencer help to layer in the breaks and guest appearance from another disco classic.
