Strange Affair is an Italo-disco project from producer Giuliano Salerni – who also gave us Ultimate’s “Love Is The Ultimate”, Hi Gloss and Bonnie Boyer. His work was another European disco venture which played out with full orchestrations and funky rhythm and bass guitars. “Bad Connection” is from the first medley on the project where a gay man dials in error a lonely woman who is willing to have company during a lonely hour. It is quite camp and plays out with the vocals of Brenda Hill, Carolyn Mitchell, Joy Lober and Vaneese Thomas in a camp-like chorus. The ladies also created the vocals for Ritchie Rome’s African Suite project.
I have taken the album version of “Bad Connection” and reworked the strings and bass into a new ReStructure Mix. The longer into showcases the funky guitars and the fade uses those booming bass drums to exit this sexy scene.
