The Salsoul Orchestra is the landmark ensemble featuring players who blended a beautiful sound from Philly-soul, Latin percussion and the new arrangement of dance music called Salsoul Disco. The story is well told as the tracks from their 1975 disco album play out the message and groove. “Don’t Beat Around The Bush” is a piece from their 1976 album “Nice ‘N Nasty” which was produced, arranged and conducted by Vincent Montana Jr. It is another slick piece of music which brings to mind the disco touch dancing period. There is a similarity in each of this orchestra’s numbers although each stands out on its own with the sexy innuendos and alluring Latin percussion. The pounding drums in “Don’t Beat Around The Bush” are like a powerful tribal edge that is infectious.
I have taken the album version of “Don’t Beat Around The Bush” and placed the drums into a new take in this ReStructure Mix. More edits and loops give a more open feel to the groove. It is a salute to The Salsoul Orchestra and the master Mr. Vincent Montana Jr.
