Hotline is a studio project from producer Bobby Orlando and outlines the synth-pop 80’s in a high energy light. Fast moving and erratic sequencers percolate over heavy percussion and bongo tracks are the production which brought this formula to its greatest effect in the mid-80’s. Orlando’ Hotline began as a take on his productions by The Flirts and his big hit with “Passion” – and his own parody on his music created the formula which many dancers will remember as infectious and hard to resist. “Guilty” is another simple melody piece that has the confessions of a cheating lover who turns themselves in with more resentment and in this light “rhythm”. It was one of the big identifiers for Orlando during the time and still a favorite among his followers and me.
I have taken the vocal and dub on the original Memo Records release of “Guilty” and re focused the pieces into a new ReStructure Mix. The story is a bit rearranged and reused for a loop-to-loop transition and a dub-energy.
