REISSUE: “Midnight In Manhattan” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Seventh Avenue

REISSUE: “Midnight In Manhattan” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Seventh Avenue Seventh Avenue is a disco ensemble from producer Ian Levine and arranger Fiachra Trench. Released in 1979 on AVI Records this production had a listing of more musicians and players to create this lush and beautiful adventure. “Midnight In Manhattan” is the title track which begins a journey on the dance floor to key points where disco was fired up on the round. The group resurfaced again in the early and mid-80’s as a high energy band with the same genius, Mr. Ian Levine creating a similar yet new sound for the dance period. It was quite an exciting transition and one that marked a whole new row of hits for Seventh Avenue and even though the group members may have changed the energy remained. “Midnight In Manhattan” is the stamp of the disco nightlife where the energy takes over as the feel of New York’s intensity would. A great piece to research for the big disco/orchestral production. I have taken the album version of “Midnight In Manhattan” and used the segments with the crisscross rhythms to recreate the track in this ReStructure Mix. The breaks are the centerpiece as disco history is known for. The long album version is consolidated for a new trip once again into the disco era.
