ReStructure Mix Update (9/28/24):”Meeting In The Ladies Room” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Klymaxx

Klymaxx is Bernadette Cooper, Cheryl Cooley, Joyce "Fenderella" Irby, Lorena Shelby, Lynn Malsby, Rayn Jackson, and Robbin Grider. This ensemble of ladies were one of the mainline funk groups of the mid-80’’s. Their 1984 hit “Meeting In The Ladies Room” is one of the surface tracks which outline what these ladies are all about. The funky beat tracks combine street-beat and electronic funk masterfully. The song outlines the problems with ladies keeping their men underwraps in a club full of adoring women. It is played out in a comical sense which gives the song its lasting feel and with the playout of rhythm it still hits the target. Produced by Bo Watson and Vincent Calloway.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Meeting In The Ladies Room” and revived the funk for this ReStructure Mix. I have used the existing beats and rhythm to outline a new story for this club escapade.
