Fancy is Manfred Alois Segieth – a German producer who formulated many dance projects that became the sound of the 80’s high energy scene. “Chinese Eyes” is a single released in 1984 and is one of the memorable pieces from Fancy as it hits hard with many heavy bass and keyboard riffs. The 80’s dance scene was ready for this edge of pulsating electronic beats and synthesizers and the formula became a standard. The vocals are a mainstay of Fancy’s singles and give the songs a momentous approach at building to a crescendo. A very popular piece and one which I would have to program over and over during the time it became a staple.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Chinese Eyes” and have reimagined the piece again for this ReStructure Mix. I have added a few new drums on the intro and closing and then worked a few new breaks into the excitement.
