Depeche Mode is an English electronic band who became one of the innovators of the 80’s dance sound. Their rein began quickly and lasted to this day and their sound continues to resonate with their original edge intact. The band consists of Alan Wilder, Andrew Fletcher, Dave Gahan, Martin L. Gore and Vincent John Martin. “Work Hard” is a single recorded in 1983 as a B-side to their hit “Everything Counts”. This is one of the moody and somewhat diabolical sounding tracks with their haunting vocals expressing the reality of life. It is one of my favorites as during its release it also created a new style of 80’s mixes where a sudden still may occur at any time in the song no matter what the energy level or typical flow may have allowed.
I have taken the 12” “East End Mix” and reworked the track for this ReStructure Mix giving more attention the into and of course a few new breakdowns. There are some great keyboards riffs which I have extended and recreated a new path for this new version.
