ReStructure Mix Update (9/1/21) “Planet of Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Le Pamplemousse

Le Pamplemousse is W. Michael Lewis and Laurin Rinder – the duo who brought the underground to the surface with their funky and laid back dance tracks. Formerly El Coco and Discognosis these talented musicians are responsible for setting the 70’s disco movement into a new realm of rhythmic songs and compositions that extend into a light orchestral flare. “Planet of Love” is from the 1979 project by the same title and is one of the funkiest numbers created by Rinder and Lewis. It engages in an erotic motion of this play land where a groove makes it all seem real. Lead vocals by Carmen Twillie are an extra added sense of fantasy here. It is another hit for Le Pamplemousse and gives way to a new disco funk that in the hands of this group was created on the dance floor – for the dance floor.

I have taken the album version of “Plant of Love” and reworked a new takeoff for this ReStructure Mix. Some down beats are added to give the flimsy percussion a run for its money.
