Bob McGilpin was a part of the Butterfly Records disco family. Producer, Norman B. Ratner made it possible for McGilpin to display his musical talents before a 70's audience waiting for hot disco material - "Superstar" is one of those underground hits that made the top of every pumping dance floor.
"Superstar" is one of those feel-good songs that expresses positive reinforcement and some of the hottest guitar licks in a disco number. Along with Bob's fierce light and rock edged vocals this cuts soars. I have taken the track and created an intro which teases and tears into the main chorus along with inverted verses.
Thanks to Mark for bringing this one to mind again - it shall never be forgotten again. May this song bring some joy and good energy to the start of your 2008 and remember, "everyone is a superstar!"
