Bill Withers (William Harrison Withers Jr.) was a mechanic for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation but after demos and his 1971 single "Ain't No Sunshine" he became a major soul artist. His 1977 album "Menagerie" contained his classic "Lovely Day" (later covered by C.C. Music Factory) and also a song featured in the film, "Looking For Mr. Goodbar".
"She Wants To (Get On Down)" has always been one of my favorite pre-disco boom tracks. It has the funky essence of the Stevie Wonder keyboard feel and a bumping bass track. It builds over and over with vocals riding on top of the groovy rhythm.
I have taken the 3:15 album track and ReStructured it into over 8 minutes adding a new intro and some breaks along the way - as well as some looping.
