Nick Straker Band is a U.K. band whose recording career began in 1979. Their fusion of synth-pop developed a style which became a new phase in the early 80s. A blend of jazz and light disco melodies. “Leaving On The Midnight Train” is an electronic dance track which was best known for a return to the new disco energy of the 80s. This one rolls along with several recognizable elements and a percussion track that stands out as the high energy intro of the period. A nice dance number that always made my dance floor come alive again.
I have taken the 12” version of “Leaving On The Midnight Train” and worked this ReStructure Mix using the guitar break in several places to bring this one to mind again. I have added some new percussion to make it sound off even more so. A trip back to the early 80s when disco once again morphed into a new exciting phase.
