John Kydd assists divas Scherrie Payne, Jayne Edwards, Cindy Birdsong and Lynda Lawrence in this Rick Gianatos production of The Supremes 1970 classic “Up The Ladder To The Roof”. This release from 1987 is vocal ear candy featuring some of the ladies from the second wave of The Supremes. Rick Gianatos takes a Motown classic and makes it work with a complete 80’s electronic arrangement and with his touch on mastering vocals this one raises again in the realm of disco heaven. Keyboards at one point play out where a mystic edge on this cover makes it pure magic.
I have taken the 12” vocal and house version of John Kydd’s “Up The Ladder To The Roof” and rewired a new ReStructure Mix. Using the keyboards and vocals in a new way to create a new path for this wonderful remake.
