ReStructure Mix Update (9/14/23): “Cry To Me” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Precious Wilson

Precious Wilson is known for her big disco hit “I Can’t Stand The Rain” with Eruption from 1977. Her solo career continued her fantastic vocal performances with a unique soulful edge and powerful emotional delivery. “Cry To Me” is from her 1980 project titled “On The Race Track” – produced by Frank Farian and also keyboards by Michael Cretu. The song is a cover of the 1962 release by Solomon Burke. Precious Wilson creates a new feel with this version and along with Farian’s disco spectacle production this one is another one of her memoirs which always play out. 

I have taken the 12” version of “Cry To Me” and reworked the original track for this ReStructure Mix. A new heavy percussive beat is laid out to express the disco edge even further and a take on the arrangement are the new experience here.
