Oh Romeo is a high energy ensemble featuring Tammy Quinn and Bobby Orlando. The group was another powerhouse session featured on Bobby’s “O” Label. Their seventh release from 1985 is “Saving Myself (For The One That I Love)” another simple and direct track which features Bobby’s magic in the touch of electronic hand-clap patterns (reminiscent of “Bang A Gong” by Witch Queen). The essence of high energy flows like a split dam here with a fast paced sequencer booming out the bass and Orlando’s classic “strike” samples. It is that wall of dance music the dance floor clamored for during the 80’s. A No-Nonsense Approach!
I have taken the 12” version of “Saving Myself (For The One That I Love)” and pulled in the pumping bass and clap tracks into a new ReStructure Mix. There is a new arrangement where that current bridge sweeps over several more times to bring us back to high-energy heaven.
