Freda Payne is a soul vocalist whose recording career began in 1963 and moved throughout the 70’s where her big hit titled “Band Of Gold” from 1970 made her a household name. “In Motion” is a 1982 release produced by Leon and Edmund Sylvers (of The Sylvers). This electronic dance/funk track is an echo of the early 80’s sound which was led by Evelyn King, Meloba Moore and O’Brian/ A nice airy sound where the groove was the emphasis and bass guitars plucked out the rhythm. “In Motion” gives Freda another chance to present her talent in a new arena during a long and many years of dedication to her music.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental versions of “In Motion” and created a new ReStructure Mix for this track. More of the bass guitars are showcased with some new edits and loops and new breaks give the song a new balance.
