ReStructure Mix Update (1/27/25):”Mighty Fine” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Peter Jacques Band

PeterJacques Band is a disco session from producer Jacques Fred Petrus and arranger Mauro Malavasi. Their first project titled “Fire Night Dance” from 1978 was an innovative display of electronic disco music breaking the standard mold and arrangements. Many of their projects to follow also inherited the attributes - including Macho, Caprice, Change, Rudy,  B.B. and Q Band, Revanche, High Fashion, Zinc and Midnight Gang - as well as productions with Ritchie Family. “Mighty Fine” is from their 1980 project titled “Welcome Back” and follows the sound created for their session project of the time period titled Change. More of a funk-disco experience with slick guitar work and again the fantastic vocal arrangements which were led by Luther Vandoss.

I have taken the album version of “Mighty Fine” and squeezed out much of the groove and funk for this ReStructure Mix. The outline is similar with a few re-edits and loops to add some lasting rhythm and a couple of new breaks.
