REISSUE: “Get Off Your Aahh! And Dance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Foxy Foxy is a disco band with members Ish Ledesma, Arnold Pasiero, Richie Puente Jr. , Charlie Murchiano and Joe Galdo. Their first album in 1976 is produced by Ray Martinez (Amant, Passion, Seven Seas, Sassy, Ray Martinez and Friends) and features the big disco hit, “Get Off Your Aahh! And Dance” which is the disco hustle sound of the period. I have taken the album version of the track and worked a ReStructure Mix using sample pieces from the follow up hit by Foxy “Get Off” from 1978. The mix centers on the percussion, bongos and some play with the wonderful bass-line. This Restructure Mix is dedicated to the wonderful man himself, Mr. Ray Martinez - who makes the fantasy of disco music an experience.

REISSUE: “Get Off” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Foxy Foxy is Ish Ledesma, Arnold Paseiro, Charlie Murciano, Joe Galdo and Richie Puente. The funk was brought to the hilt with bands like Foxy during the disco years. The blend of slamming beats and the aural essence of the club scene made this sound a new edge. “Get Off” is from their second album from 1978 with the same title. This track is now an old school and disco classic and maintains it funkiness with its party atmosphere and kickin’ rhythm. A huge shift for both dance floors and disco in the late 70s and perhaps one of the big influences on soon to emerge 80’s punk funk. I have taken the 12” version of “Get Off” and re-chopped and assembled the groove into a ReStructure Mix to pay tribute to this monster. It works into a mere frenzy with more of the parts that make it one of those hard to not move and forget numbers.

REISSUE: “Party Boys" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Foxy Foxy brought a unique blend of funk/soul and a definite disco drive to dance floors in the late 70s. Lead by the very talented Ish Ledesma, the band created disco classics "Get Off" and "Hot Number". In 1979 their vinyl LP "Party Boys" completed set. "Party Boys" was remixed and released in 1980 by Mike Lewis and brought the energy to dance floors and the excitement of disco music all over again. A fantastic breakdown of the album version and much more of of a crowd pleaser. I have taken the TK 12" single and gave it a ReStructure Mix with a few more tic-toc's and chopping to give the mix a new feel. Dedicated to Ish Ledesma and the "Party Boys"! Those nights of being expelled from the club were worth it!

ReStructure Mix Update (9/3/20) “Don’t Stop The Train” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kristeen (alias Viola Wills)
Kristeen is a cover name for disco legend, Viola Wills on a 1985 release of “Don’t Stop The Train” – a dance floor hit released by Phyllis Nelson in 1981 and produced by Yves Dessca – who also produced this Kristeen (Viola Wills) version. Earlier in 1979 he recorded Viola on a track titled “You Will Forget”. Another fantastic performance for Viola who seemed to top every performance with the next thanks to her beautiful voice and range – her big hit in 1980 with “If You Could Read My Mind” which started another row of hits for her. In “Don’t Stop The Train”, Viola performs this like a Shakespearean actor exuding the emotion and drama nonstop – it is quite a feat and understandably why she was brought in again as a session singer but then of course under the alias Kristeen (even a photo of another woman on the 12”), But all in all we know Viola and the tremendous talent we had pin the dance floor and this is another reason to celebrate her magic.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Don’t Stop The Train” and the beautiful arrangement by Yves Dessca to bring to life again the heartbreak and tale woven by Viola Wills here. There are some new percussion pieces added to give it a new rhythmic life and a few reedited pieces to make this one last longer than Ms. Will's anticipation for the ride.
This one is dedicated to the memory of Ms. Viola Wills – your music still moves us as is you were never gone.

REISSUE: "Put Your Pants On” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Slick Slick is a disco project from 1979, the peak of disco music production – and features studio musicians who also formed Fat Larry’s Band, singer Brandi Wells and The Sweethearts of Sigma in the chorus ensemble. The production from Butch Ingram is familiar with his studio group Philly Cream whose single “Motown Review” received radio and club success in 1979 also. “Put Your Pants On” is a track from the Slick album and was also featured on the B-side to their big hit “Space Bass” – which became an underground club hit and maintained its disc jockey status throughout the early 80s. It is a play on a sexy situation and uses a parody of sounds to play out its almost vaudevillian humor. It is an infectious rhythm however and one that I always found creative and fun from this project. I have taken the album version (also 12”) of “Put Your Pants On” and purposely directed a ReStructure Mix at playing with the tinkling cowbells and funky backing guitar riffs. It is not only extended, but also some added punch gives this track another life.

REISSUE: "Extraterrestrial Lover" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvia Love (Chantal Pierre) Producer Trevor Vallis and writers Mike Brayn and Steve Coe created an underground disco classic that takes the dance floor into a fantasy world. The vocal was recorded under the name of Sylvia Love originally but now known as Chantal Pierre. Chantal recently appeared on Strictly Confidential and I promised to remix her classic track - this is that venture. I have taken into mind that the track needed an arrangement that kept Chantal's wonderful vocal intact. I have laid out a new synthesizer base which brings a completely new feel to the song. This is dedicated to Chantal who is a lovely lady and I thank for making me "fly" in my mind with this incredible performance.

REISSUE: “Action '78" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Erotic Drum Band George Cucuzella produced along with Peter Di Milo from Canada. Another reference to disco music's transition during the late seventies. This project contained more synthesizers and percussion than any other release during the time. A great leap forward for dancers and dee jays to find the edge of dance music which could have been a direction in a "tribal" and "techno" arena. Great percussion reins throughout "Action '78" - my ReStructure pulls the original mix into an extended orgy of energy and a great uncovered riff.

REISSUE: "It Must Be Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Alton McClain and Destiny Alton McClain and Destony (D'Marie Warren and Robyrda Stiger) are girl group responsible for the 1978 dance floor hit "It Must Be Love" - produced by John Footman and Frank Wilson. The song became an instant radio hit and it's response on dance floors was equally positive. The song is a funk/soul recipe with a fantastic vocal performance by the trio. It is reminiscent of great Motown productions with the alluring girl group sound. I have ReStructured the track since it is an all-time favorite and have given it a new intro and stretched a few segments out as well as rearrange the flow. It is still one of those classics that bring to mind the disco edge with lots of soul.

REISSUE: "Money" by The Flying Lizards - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera The Flying Lizards are David Cunningham and Patti Palladin. The experimental recordings that fit for an appropriate point in dance music where punk, new wave and synth-pop began to emerge from the success of the disco music wave. “Money” is their 1979 single and an odd-cover of the 1959 Barret Strong soul-classis – co-written by Motown founder Barry Gordy. The Flying Lizards take the mood of the original and give it a slight twist of care and attitude. This one was quite popular in clubs where experimental DJs worked it into their programs. It is an opportunity to give up your senses to a new generation of sound. I have taken the accosted song and created a Disco Video Mix using scenes from the 1979 comedy film, “The Jerk” starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters. The outline is obvious and the goal tears away the purpose here. It is another twisted effect to use in this Disco Video Mix that rarely goes broke. Focusing on late Princess Diana of Wales and the tabloids obsession with her affairs. The piece gives us another opportunity to experience the alternative synthesizer branding those overlays the drastic and dark edge sound very appealing. I have taken the 2014 film “Diana” with Naomi Watts and Naveen Andrews into this Disco Video Mix to bring the song a new layer of thought and sadness. REISSUE: “L'Amour Toujours” by Telex – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Telex is Dan Lacksman, Marc Moulin and Michel Moers – an innovative synth-pop ensemble whose 1984 project “Wonderful World” featured the single “L'Amour Toujours” which translates to “love always” and play out in a strange mixture of jittery sequencers and romantic vocoder verses. It was a big underground club hit and displayed the elements of early techno and influence of early groups like Kraftwerk. I have taken scenes from the 1981 romantic comedy “Heartbeeps” with Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters to play out the robotic feel matching both the dance track and the films outline. It is a dreamy scenic edit for the song and makes the film feel as though it belongs appropriately. The film was directed by Allan Arkush Featuring scenes from “Heartbeeps” – RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: “Show Me Yours” by Corruption – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Corruption is disco music producers, Barry Blum and John Hedges – who also gave us Lisa (“Jump Shout”) and Shawn Benson (“Seclusion”). Vocals on Corruption are Catherine Beckwith and Lynn Ray. “Show Me Yours” is their only single released in 1981 – featured on “Prime Cuts 1 – The Double Album” and also Disconet – Volume 4 Program 3. It is a haunting electronic dance track which kicks energetically and leaves a strong resonance. I have taken the mood from the mystical and haunting edge of the song and blended it with a 1972 horror/thriller titled. “Blood Orgy of The She-Devils”. The film is a campy flick which centers on the world of witchcraft and mystifying rituals. Since a great deal of the theme centers on a fortune teller who foretells the future, I thought “Show Me Yours” was perfect! The film was directed by Ted V.
