Lea is a disco artist who released two singles in the early 80s. “Fingers” from 1985 is produced by Bobby Orlando, Don Oriolo and Jurgen S. Korduletsch. This is a camp piece that explores the anatomical piece of the body which explores Lea’s sexy body. She describes every part of her lovers’ hands right on down to the ‘fingers’. It is a sexy camp high number that you expect to hear maybe Ann Margret sing with a dancing all-male chorus backup. The synthesizers resemble much of Bobby Orlando’s high energy work and are the power behind this track. It was later re-released under the name Ronny Goes To Liverpool and titled “Trust” with news snippets sampled. Lea creates a saucy and sexy performance that is everything that disco camp is. I have taken the 12” single version from Oh My! Records and recreated another ReStructure Mix using more of the deep-driving keyboards and rolling synths as the focus. A couple of classic disco breaks are added to give the sensual edge a new reality.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/25/20) “Walking On The Floor” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Quartz

Quartz is Didier Plus, Laurent Taieb, and Patrick Langlade. A French disco band from 1978 originally founded by Chris Quartz (Saint-Preux) and leading the period with a big disco hit titled “Beyond The Clouds”. It was an innovative instrumental with a new age feel to it along with the pumping bass lines and breaks of disco energy. The style was one of the starters for artists like Gino Soccio and Patrick Cowley. “Walking On The Floor” is from their 1979 project “Camel In The City” – it is another part of the process of creative disco with beats and electronic pulses bringing energy to life.

I have taken the album version of “Walking On The Floor” and reworked some of the vital elements of the track into this ReStructure Mix. New bass beats and high end effects make a new foundation for this nuance for Quartz.

REISSUE: “Boys (Summertime Love)” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sabrina
Sabrina is an Italo-disco artists who well known for not only her 1987 dance floor hit, “Boys (Summertime Love)” but also her cleavage from the video. A great summer Italo track that uses a deep bump beat to power out the excitement on the beach for a single girl as she summons the “boys” for frolic on the sand. Produced by Claudio Cecchetto who also produced a few Italo-disco classic including Bizzy & Co., Taffy and Tracy Spencer. This song made radio playlists during its release and gave the weekend airwaves a taste of uplifting Italian disco music. I have taken the 12” mix and the instrumental to recreate the beach balls, boys and cleavage once again for this ReStructure Mix. A drawn out arrangement with a special cameo from Connie Francis and a blend of her classic boy song along with “Summertime Love”. A new celebration and feel here.

REISSUE: “Summer Dream” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sergio Mendes & Brazil ‘88 Sergio Mendes is a Brazilian artist and composer who created a unique style of Bossa Nova and Latin Rhythms and moving onto the 70s fused a touch of funk and eventually disco. His 1979 album “Magic Lady” along with Brazil ’88 featured several dance numbers that invaded club dance floors thanks to the execution of tracks like “I’ll Tell You” and “Summer Dream”. The Latin influence has the funk edge of each dance number alive with percussion and energy. “Summer Dream” is a flowing disco track that brings to mind a tropical island full of pleasure – as the song plays on you can almost feel the breeze. It is a favorite for anyone who loves Mendes and knows the effect that disco music creates when used the right way. I have taken the short 3:36 album version of “Summer Dream” and recreated an escape for the ears, feet and mind in this ReStructure Mix. The rolling bass line is the subject of encouragement here as it becomes a few breakdowns. The beautiful lyrics and vocals are the wonder and those saxophone breaks are magnificent.

REISSUE “Summer Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Musique Mr. Patrick Adams composed some of the most memorable disco compositions. His ability to combine lush strings with percussion made an impact on dance floors throughout the 70's. He is truly a master at his art. This studio group that set off a sound which outlined disco at it's best. "Summer Love" contains a chorus that is the most sensual and powerful - featuring the fabulous, Christine Wiltshire and Jocelyn Brown (then Shaw). I have taken the track and split into several parts for this ReStructure. Many familiar with the track may recognize new breaks and loops along the way. Dedicated to Felix Prince - who always reminded how the strings created a lush orchestral experience.

REISSUE: “Summertime City” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Astaire Astaire is one of the early high energy projects from Passion Records and producers John Davies, Nigel Stock and Robin Sellars. During an important period for dance music in the early 80’s this trio along with vocalist Tracy Ackerman created the sound of Passion Records with the symphonic high energy edge. Dance floors were still moving to the heavy disco beat but now in a new way. A hardcore blend of striking keyboards and heavy drum fills was the pace for dance music and soon became the recipe for high energy disco music. “Summer Night City” is a cover of the 1978 ABBA track and takes the pop-song into a heavy rolling house-feel. It plays out well as Tracy Ackerman’s familiar vocal is a touch of soulful beauty with the disco edge. It is a reminder of just how exciting the 70’s night was and how it affected our worlds. I have taken the 12” version of “Summer Night City” and reworked a bit of the rolling bass synths along with some new beats for this ReStructure Mix. There is more of a movement here more towards the dub sound although the verses remain intact.

REISSUE: "Summer Breeze" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Baiser Baiser is a disco project from producer Francois L'Herbier - who also worked on the follow up album from Voggue ("Love Buzz"). "Summer Breeze" is the single released in 1983 which is one of the most beautiful pieces from this year. It is a love affair starting in the summer sun and hoping for a promise of lasting emotion. A favorite among many connoisseurs of early morning music or a blend of electronic dance with a touch of contemporary jazz fusion. This piece also contains a lovely vocal from an uncredited studio singer which brings the song to another great level. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental into the ReStructure Mix realm to give the song a more underground feel and break up some of the wonderful keyboard and percussion. It was nice time spent also breaking the vocal into pieces and placing them into another romantic gesture for a whole new experience.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/24/20) “Looking For Clues” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Robert Palmer

Robert Palmer is an interesting vocalist and musician. A British pop-rock singer he recorded his own style of music throughout 1974 to 1983 where he found a new stage for himself recording pop-funk songs in his own appeal. He released dance floor hits “You Are In My System”, “I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On”, “Early In The Morning” and “Tell Me I’m Not Dreaming” which were prior dance floor hits that he revived in his own sound. “Looking For Clues” is from his 1980 project titled “Clues” which bears the 80’s dance feel with an extreme and percussive arrangement and a few small breaks. It was a big DOR (Dance Oriented Rock) crossover and made its way on many dance floors.

I have taken the album version of “Looking For Clues” and reworked a ReStructure Mix to pay homage to this fast slamming piece. There is a new intro and a few new elements with drums and percussion to move along with it.

REISSUE: "Give Me Your Body" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Lime Lime is Denis and Denyse LePage - the duo that set dance floors back into motion and paved the way for 80s high energy with their 1980 hit, "Your Love". Although, Denis was no stranger to disco music - he had arranged many projects in the late 70s and continued to grow and innovate disco with his electronic music. "Give Me Your Body" is from Lime's third album titled "Lime 3" - another big move for the duo who never seemed to disappoint our ears or feet. I have the album version of "Give Me Your Body" and have applied my ReStructure Mix method to this lovely track. It is the love song of the time - or at least it was on my dance floor: the nights of seeing couples holding each other as if they were moving to a ballad - that's just how lovely it is. Dedicated to the Lady of Lime - Ms. Denyse LePage. It is that time again Denyse and I thank you for your wonderful talent and your beautiful view on the music even today.

REISSUE: "Guilty" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Lime Lime is Denis and Denyse Lepage – a duo who turned dance floors into a frenzy during the early 80s and throughout the early 90s. A powerhouse disco/high energy project which never seemed to disappoint or let up on surprises. Their third album “Lime III” is one of the works which cover the spectrum of dance floor favors influencing new dance artists soon after. Denis had been affiliated with many disco projects during the late 70s and his work paid off for Lime. “Guilty” is the first single from “Lime III” and has always been an anthem for me. It always gives an emotional message which I have taken to another level with this ReStructure Mix. There is a new haunting edge to the yearning of a romance that is certain to have another chance – thanks to love. It plays out like a mini drama with some new effects and beats to guide familiar feet to a new story. Dedicated to Mr. George Matiowsky of Facebook – for the upbeat energy and also for keeping the music with a great message alive in his life.

High energy is the sound which took over the disco legacy and made dancers find more moves between beats than ever. "I Don't Wanna Lose You" is from their 1984 album "Sensual Sensation" and is one of the project from Lime which is progressive in the state of electronic dance music and a new group of songs which play out in their style once again, very well. I have taken the album version of "I Don't Wanna Lose You" and have given it a new ReStructure Mix - playing on the synth loops and kick drums. Also, adding a few new words from a couple of dance classics. This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Gillian C. from Facebook - thank you Gillian for always being so uplifting!

REISSUE: "I'll Be Yours" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Lime Denis and Denyse LePage are Lime and took over dance floors in 1980 with their single "Your Love" - it was a return to a high energy dance arrangement with an innovative electronic twist (pardon the pun). "I'll Be Yours" is from their LP released in 1981 - another big club hit which has every aspect of Lepage's style and efforts. Ominous bass and a dramatic string arrangement. I have moved in on this song by piecing together the horns and strings with the percussion again, but in a new order and secession. This ReStructure is dedicated to one of Lime's most dedicated fans, Dominique. Thank you, Dominique for keeping the essence of Lime fresh and alive!

Taking on a new direction for dance music in the early 80s was their forte and done with lots of energy and excitement. “Lime II” is their 1982 project which featured “Help Yourself” – a fast moving high energy piece that displays the groups sound and again the simple necessity to keep moving to great compositions for a new era from Denis Lepage and Denyse to create a sound that became Lime’s light. I have taken the album version of “Help Yourself” and worked a new ReStructure Mix to pay tribute to Lime and their magic. The 80s was theirs and now this new re-capped version is yours.

ReStructure Mix Update (8/23/20) “This Must Be Heaven” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jerry Carr

Jerry Carr is one of the funk and soul talents in the music industry who is a self-taught musician and brings the 80’s a new brand of funk. His 1981 album “This Must Be Heaven” produced by William Talbert (Shotgun) is a refreshing piece of work for a period where dance music shifted from disco to a soulful and funky groove. The title track is the big hit here and plays out in a romance turned to a dance. It as the foundation of a nice New York funk track with some catchy riffs throughout. Jerry does a very nice job covering this one with a soulful and dedicated performance which still plays out in its originality.

I have taken the 12” version of “This Must Be Heaven” and recreated a new dance experience for this ReStructure Mix. The original elements are accented lightly with a new drum track and the groove spread across the remix with a few new twists and turns.
