In 1977 Charlie Calello and Sandy Linzer produced Odyssey’s “Native New Yorker” – the ensemble consisted of sisters, Lillian and Louise Lopez and Tony Reynolds. This release became an instant hit in discotheques all over the world as well as becoming a big part of the rejuvenation of New York’s travel campaign.
In 1980 Odyssey continued their statement to dance floors with “Use It Up and Wear It Out” – this project was produced by Sandy Linzer. It featured a percussive and simple melody that brought an instant energy for a time as disco music began to decline from the pop-charts. Otherwise, this would have surely been another favorite as tracks like “Shake Your Groove Thing”.
I have taken the track into a ReStructure realm and simply rearranged the verses and added a new back beat to bring a new life to an already dance floor favorite.
