"Bolero" by Kebekelektrik - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

"Bolero" by Kebekelektrik - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

“Bolero” is a piece composed by Maurice Ravel for ballet in 1928. In 1977 producers Gino Soccio and Pat Deserio included a synth-based disco version on the debut LP for the studio session. The group titled Kebekelektrik is actually a synonym for “Quebec Electric” - since both producers are from Canada.

The disco version is more of a metaphor for the trance-like feel of electronic disco which began to take over with many new variations in the late 70’s. The LP by Kebekelektrik also contained 2 big dance tracks, “Magic Fly” and “Ware Dance” - the project was mixed by the legendary Tom Moulton.

I have taken scenes from Blake Edwards’ 1979 comedy, “10” starring Dudley Moore and Bo Derek - the film outlines a middle aged man searching through is mid-life crisis and his sexual fantasies and reality. This is more of an homage to Bo Derek and the scenes which made her a drop shadow for sexuality in the early 80’s.

Dedicated to Mr. Tom Moulton - for the many years of his talents working the dance floors around the world.
