Stevie Nicks former member of Fleetwood Mac
released her first solo album, "Bella Donna" in 1981. During the big
pop-dance 80s era many artists were releasing songs that were
formulated as a new style of pop-dance. Many of them actually
released as 12" single with remixes for extended club play - just as
the 70s 12" disco single.
"Stand Back" is from Stevie Nicks' 1983 follow-up LP titled "The Wild Heart" - the song became an instant favorite among her fans and also 80s dance floors. Produced by Jimmy Iovine, the song uses a heavy synthesizer base, which I always associated with a mild Patrick Cowley - and a clever rock edge to bring the song a pop-rock feel for Stevie and a place in clubs.
I have taken the 12" single and did a few chops and edits to create a new ReStructure Mix - focusing on the roaring synthesizer, of course and also bringing some of the hidden elements out. It pulls the original mix to a little over 9 minutes.
