ReStructure Mix Update (8/21/13) “Techno Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ava Cherry

ReStructure Mix Update (8/21/13) “Techno Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ava Cherry

Ava Cherry is a woman who is known for more than her sexy stance and tantalizing vocals. During the mid-70s and in the early 80s her vocals backed David Bowie artistry. In 1980 her first solo album titled “Ripe” was a hit in clubs with her tracks, “Where There’s Smoke There’s Fire”, “You Never Loved Me” and “I’m Always Ready”. She was a breath of fresh soul-funk and a touch of the 80s woman. It was proven once again with her 1982 album “Streetcar Named Desire” which was produced by disco’s genius, Bob Esty. An arrangers dream, and engineers delight and a vocal paradise for Ava as each track bridged a funky edge with the new electronic mood and sound of the early 80s.

I have taken one of my favorite songs from the album titled, “Techno Love” – which I played in my club extending with two pieces of vinyl – so this ReStructure Mix gives way to a break-beat and dub like mix. I have preserved Ava’s sensual performance and her wonderful energy. It is a new way to program the feet and mind.

Lovingly dedicated to Mr., Bob Esty – how do you do it? And the fabulous and never-failing, Ava Cherry – whose work kept us on the tracks!
