REISSUE: “Hangin’” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Chic

REISSUE:  “Hangin’” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Chic

Chic is one of disco music’s connections between funk/soul and the distinctive sound of the 70s. A groove which made the disco era what it is and was. The masters of this machine were Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards who played out the music which took dance floors and audio connoisseurs into a new realm. “Hangin’” is a single from their 1982 album “Tongue In Cheek” which moves the band from the sound they created in the mid 70’s which outlined a funkier and sophisticated disco edge to a new period of funk and electro-dance during the early 80’s. With this track you can hear that the band had no problem with the shift. All of the ammunition that was inspired during their inception is brought to the hilt in this finger-poppin’ dance number. It is the nightlife again in a new manner where Chic again pulls it off with sophistication for a new era of dance music.

I have taken the album version of “Hangin’” and recreated a ReStructure Mix with a new energy injected. Some pumping drums add some excitement to this new trip. The guitars which paint the picture are extended and looped for control again and the chorus used to emphasize the meaning.
