REISSUE: "Soup For One” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Chic

REISSUE: "Soup For One” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Chic

Chic is a funk/disco ensemble from Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards whose 1977 track, “Dance, Dance, Dance” became a whole new sound for dance floors. Their polish and sophisticated brand of dance music is properly themed as ‘chic’. The band also featured the voices of Norma Jean Wright, Alfa Anderson and in later projects Diva Gray, Luther Vandross, Kimberly Davis, Luci Martin and Tony Thompson. Guitars and strings always resonated from their arrangements along with great themes and poetic lyrics. “Soup For One” is a song released in 1982 and was featuring in the soundtrack from a film by the same name. This one is Chic at their highest performance level. A great song which emphasizes loneliness and regret for a lost love. It has many elements that make it a great dance number and in the Chic tradition plays out with a polished edge.

I have taken the 12” version of “Soup For One” and recreated this ReStructure Mix giving it more of a dub feel and breaking up the original arrangement for a new mixed up and down experience.
