Midnight Rhythm is a disco session project from producers Joe Long and Robby Adcock. This album released in 1978 is one of the monumental sounds of the shit and popularity of disco music. A full orchestra with layers of strings and horns along with the soon to be high energy feel which the end of the 70’s disco era demanded. The first single from the project “Workin’ and Slavin’ (I Need Love)” is one of the uplifting songs of that year and one of the big hits on dance floors. “Midnight Rhythm” is a single from the project which encompasses the nightlife as it moves and becomes a fantasy playground. This one is the sound of disco as it moved onto its final stages and uses the excitement that this period will always be known for.
I have taken the album version of “Midnight Rhythm” and rewired a new play for this ReStructure Mix. I have added some new drums and used the existing pieces that give the song its magic in a new edit.
