King Sporty is a reggae artist and musician who began his recording career in 1976. “Mr. Rhythm” is a track from his project by the same titled released in 1977 – produced by George "Chocolate" Perry and King Sporty. The single is full of percussion and his style of vocal arrangements which layout the ground work for a celebration. The piece features a rolling sequencer which gives it a mid-70s disco feel with all of the focus on that Saturday peak hour play. Released on the T.K. Disco label and is now an underground classic.
I have taken the 12” version of “Mr. Rhythm” and replayed the full-on percussion arrangement for this ReStructure Mix. I have separated the vocals in a new layout and arrangement with a few more breaks and surprises.
