Sandy Steele is a disco project from Canadian disco producer Jerry Cucuzzella who gave us numerous projects from Nightlife Unlimited, Suzy Q and Nancy Martinez. “Let Me Be Your Wonder Lover” is the B-side to the 1983 release of “Mind Your Own Business”. One of the many Canadian disco tracks which helped to keep dance floors moving following the late 70’s fade from major labels. The underground feel of this Sandy Steele single has the feel of an Adam Ant disco track with the percolating effects accenting the downbeats and the handclaps reinvigorating a 50’s edge. It has one of the catchiest choruses which is why is has remained a classic among the hardcore jocks who dedicated themselves to the new disco sound which would soon be high energy.
I have taken the 12” version of “Let Me Be Your Wonder Lover” and an aligned the groove with the full disco arrangement in this ReStructure Mix. There are additional clap add-ons and some new breaks to make this one shine again.
