ReStructure Mix Update (10/1/24):”Yo-Yo” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Plaza

Plaza is a Belgium band featuring Patrick Van Assche, Sandra De Maayer and Tineke Honoré - and produced by Fonny De Wulf. The stance made here was the birth of the ensemble of bands emulating this outline. In the 90’s tracks like “Another Night” and “Mr. Vain” were imagined with the same ammunition. Upbeat and appealing. “Yo-Yo” is Plaza’s 1989 single which has a simple riff which plays out to the hilt here with the bounce and energy that high energy music was all about. The electronic production plays out like a video game theme with more of a dance floor flavor.

I have taken the 12” version of “Yo-Yo” and grabbed the energy and added a little “salt” (and “peppa) to spice up this ReStructure Mix. The verses are surrounded by more of a down beat and a touch of funk to bring this one back to life.
